I had a fill last Tuesday, and had liquids that day as recommended by my surgeon. On Wednesday night, I went out to dinner and ate a small amount, but regular food, making sure to chew well. Thursday, I could hardly eat any solids, mostly liquids. Friday, Saturday, and today, Sunday, I cannot seem to get anything down at all, except small amounts (like 3-4 sips) of fluids at a time. Even foods considered liquids like shakes do not stay down and comes right back out.

I'm wondering if something became lodged on Wednesday night, my first meal after the fill, and is causing blockage. I am also having chest discomfort and lots of reflux, especially at night even if I didn't drink anything for hours before going to sleep.< /p>

Anyone have something similar happen?

I think you should go ahead and call your doctor. I don't know what the chances of something having become lodged there are... but the chances of the area having swollen up are good.

If you can't get and keep liquids down-- you need to see the doctor right away.

Sounds like you are too tight for sure. That's why your having the acid reflux. You could eat that first night because swelling hadn't occured yet. I would call your doc. right a way and go in for a slight unfill. Until you can get in, you might want to try watered down protien shakes. They have helped me when I was too tight after a fill.

I had my first fill on Friday and had shakes that day. On Saturday, I had an extremely small meal and let me tell you....I am TIGHT. That night I felt like I was sleeping with a baseball in my chest. I had gas, diarrhea, etc up until yesterday night. I am hoping I am done with that.

I've been back on mainly liquids since it freaked me out a bit. I am going to try a meal tomorrow at lunch to see how it goes but nothing today.

If worse comes to worse, I'll go back and unfill a bit. I hope not but I can't have another weekend like this one!

Thanks for the advice. The part that sucks is that my surgeon lives on another island, and there are no bariatric surgeons on my island. I just have to be more careful from now on. Happy Labor Day!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
