October 2010 Bandsters!!

I finally got my date today!! Woohoo! Feel like I have been waiting forever. October 18th they offered me the 5th but b/c of my work schedule I could not do it :) I feel so much better though that I have a date and can now make plans, with time off work etc...

Who else is getting banded in October? I think it will be nice to have others to compare feelings and stories with, as we are going through this.

Good Luck to everyone! New Chapter here I come

Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com

The above has food tracker, exercise tracker, measurement trackers and you can customize it. The "ticker" once put on lap band talk will auto update when you put in a new weight on myfitnesspal.

If anyone decides to use it, please feel free to send me a friend request on it. My name is PuppyBandit there also.

One week since surgery and doing fine. I'm really feeling the urge to "chew" though.

I went back to work 2 days after surgery, but that was a big mistake. I left after a couple of hours and didn't go back until after the weekend.

The worst part so far has been the gas pain in my shoulder, but it seems to have gone away today. I took some liquid tylenol this morning instead of the hydrocodone and I still feel pretty good.

I was excited this morning when I put on a shirt with elastic in the sleeves and the sleeves weren't tight anymore! :-D And my double-chin is going away - I can see my neck!

Hooray I'm done!!! Hurt like hell when I woke up, had a little trouble getting my oxygen up, but was operated at 8 this morn, came home at 3 and all in all feeling good. Tylenol 3's are a wonderful thing!!! Let the losing begin.:smile2:

Hey Everyone!

Glad to read how great everyone is doing!

I went to the Doctor last Friday and am going in to get banded this Friday, 10/15!! :tt2: I'm self-pay so it went super fast.

One super thing about it though is I have been so busy getting things ready that I've barely noticed the pre-op liquid diet.:smile2: Hope that lasts the rest of the week!

Hope everyone keeps doing well, and good luck to everyone!!

Gram ok lets talk, tynenol 3 no big drugs, that great..worse then childbirth?

hope everything keeps going good for you. I have a week. Did you have any shoulder pain?

did they change any of your meds?

can you feel the band around your stomach?

when you feel better let me know how it is?

Ive got my band!!!! yay!!! Today has been a very odd day! I woke up from surgery with horid gas pains in my shoulders, a sore throat frm the tube in my throat. I have pain, but im not crying, the owrst is the gas pains and how it affects your ability to breath without pain. Im so excited and this is so worth it!!! yay drugs hehehe!

Hi Grams :smile2: I see you got your ticker on your posts, cute!

When you lose more, you have to click your ticker and it will take you to the site to update your weight. If all goes well, it should auto update your signature.

I have my 1 week follow up appt today. I am going to ask about the sharp pain I have been having to the right of my navel. I don't think it's gas. It's 1 week from surgery and I'm still very bloated, more so than before my surgery. Feel like I'm going to pop or float away lol.

nowhere close to childbirth... they gave me a painkiller in my iv post op then Ty3 at home, I can tell when they are wearing off, left shoulder pain from gas used to place port but manageable, coughing hurts but not horrible, have 5 small incisions, they repaired a hernia while they were in, can't feel the band at all, but can the port it's sore, had no nausea, and I was able to drink right away, was hungry last night so I had a protein shake again no problem. I hope they didn't forget to put the band in:scared2:. Not to worry you'll do fine, keep me posted and good luck. I hope they don't run out of bikinis next summer:thumbup:

I'm so excited for all of you. I hope you all are still feeling well and recuperating quickly. I am having my surgery on Oct. 28th. I started the liquid diet today. The shakes aren't great...I do feel good though because it feels very proactive.

Oh yes i forgot... I have a question... Did you guys feel exhausted while drinking the shakes? Or am I just tired from my kids not sleeping well the last couple of nights...

I had my 1 week follow up appt today. I got stuck in the bed the other night and trying to get out of bed I had an awful pain next to my belly button. Since then, I've been having a pain that is blindingly painful when I get up and down. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it is bad.

I went today to follow up appt and he checked it out and said it is where my port is. He said when I got stuck in the bed, I must have pulled where they put stitches at the port site. Something like that anyway. Still have very swollen belly, he said to give it another week. I'm still full of water. I can start puree foods now and can have scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes and stuff like that. I have lots of soups just waiting for me to puree them. In 2 more weeks I can slowly start to add soft foods, depending how I tolerate them.

I'm on pain meds another week due to the muscle rip.

But other than that, I've not gotten sick at all and am glad I got this done.

I've drank a whole gallon of skim milk since surgery lol.

I decided I'm taking 6 weeks off work. My FMLA says I go back to work November 22 so I must do what it says

Day 2 post-op.......ouch! Had applesauce and yogurt today no problem. Getting up and down is another story! I'm focusing on the new wardrobe I'm going to buy at the end of this journey:rolleyes2:.
