Hello!

Congrats on getting the band....I had mine done the 1st of July....the 1st 2 weeks were the hardest.....I am 25 lbs down now and I forget some times that I have had the band fitted....only some foods hurt when I eat fast....which is something I have slowed down....you have done the right thing....I would advise you to try and do exercise. I am with a personal trainer who is helping me get fitter and tone up as I am losing weight.....I now have a lot more energy and I am not obsessing about food as I am keeping myself busy.

Best of luck ....it does get easier

Sarabay, we have the same band days:thumbup:...I just got mine too. So far, Clear Liquids have been no problem and I'm just starting on "creamy" liquids...I'm down a bit too in weight, but I figure thats mostly Water loss...I'm a bit dehydrated, even though I'm constantly sipping something...Sure hope it gets better though...

Sara...If you can go to the open chat listed at the top of the page. I was banded July 28th, 2010 and have found it to be a great support system. There you can ask people how have gone through it any question you want and they always give great advice back. I have also had private side chats within this site with people who had surgery at the same time as me and that has really helped. You will find in the chat that most guests seem to know each other and talk about many other things, but when i type in that i'm needing help or answers to question..they always come right to my rescue with answers...you just have to say ...."can someone help me with this problem or question I have" anyways best of luck with your journey and stay positive!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
