I was trying to take my medicines. I take Synthroid for my hypothyroid, a blood pressure pill and a Zyrtec. I have severe allergies so the Zyrtec is a must.

Anyway my discharge notes say to split them all in half and take a half at a time. Well I got the first 2 halves down with 2 separate drinks then I got a third half down with another drink then when the fourth half went down I suddenly got hot. I felt really really sick to my stomach and my mouth started watering really badly.

I sat down for a while and I feel a little better now but I still need to take my blood pressure medicine and I'm afraid to drink anything else right now.

day 2 post op is when I was having issues with vomiting too. The only thing I can think of with your pills is to take a few and then wait 30 minutes and take the rest.

Can the Zyrtec be switched to PM's since it is a 24 hour pill? I do think you probably drank too much Water all at once. I agree, wait it out. I have the same problem several times a week.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
