I started out using Bouillon cubes to make my broth and then I found this stuff by Orrington Farms. It's powdered stock mix. You mix 1 tsp with 1 cup of Water. It tastes much, much better and it's a little lower in sodium than bouillon. You can find it on the Soup aisle in a plastic jar. They have chicken, beef and ham.
I use the ham all the time to make peas and Beans. I haven't used meat in my peas or beans in a year now and dh can't tell the difference.
This is the first time I've tried the others though.
