I started off doing South Beach Diet. You may want to read up on it. Now I just cut out breads, rices, etc. Though at times I will have a thin slice of bread.< /span>

I eat a lot of cheese, vegetables. Salads have become a wonder food for me, but if you have a fill you may have issues with salads.

I usually eat about 30-40 carbs a day, but at times I stay below 30. I'd say no more than 45 a day, but you may want to consult your nutritionist. You'll find a lot of low carb recipes online.

It really depends on how tight you are. Sometimes I have issues eating scrambled eggs, but most times I go slow

For Snacks I like deviled eggs, pepperoni, ham and cheese rollups.

Preband I was trying for low-mid carb diet. As a treat though I would toast a piece of bakery bread and use benecol spread. Crunchy and salty yum. I did'nt have it every day but since I was having a lot of Protein Shakes that are sweet it was a nice to have the saltiness. In my experience when I was dieting making something "off limits forever" only made me want it more. Finding a compromise (one slice and not 2-3) makes me feel in control.

Carbs are good for you! They give you energy! Didn't you do enough dieting before being banded?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
