How often will you/are you calling your insurance?

Recommended Posts

I called on Friday to check the status of my pre determination. The lady said a decision had not been reached yet and I should call back once a week. She said she thinks they will have a decision by Friday.

I'm thinking about calling again on Wednesday though and then Friday if needed.

How often will you be checking?

I called everyday, approval only took two days. Now I'm waiting for the approval letter to be faxed to my doctors office. I'm so frustrated because without that doctors office won't schedule surgery. I've called like 5 times already this morning, keep getting voice mail. I've waited over six months in order to get approval and am tired of waiting.

Same boat here... Dr's office approved and said they'd get paperwork in on the 1st... it was the 13th before the ins got it all and I've called *several* times since then... the last time was 25 minutes ago...

I don't want to be too overbearing, but it's getting really frustrating!!! The surgeon's office made it sound like a piece of cake, we'd have an answer in 1-2 weeks... nope. So now my potential surgery date is getting later and later and if it doesn't happen before labor day it's not happening until Christmas (can't take time off sept-mid dec where I work).

So I've called insurance almost daily for the past week. At least I talk to a different person each time but they must have made a note about me by now!! I never knew the waiting would make me look nutso!

Congrats to you!!

I'm going nutso also:( I check my insurance website daily for updates. That won't show an approval but if I'm denied it will show up there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
