I hope this information can help someone who is struggling to get banded so that they can have there life back such as I am ..

Hi, Can anyone give me an idea of what interest rate they charged, whether or not, and how they secured the loan, and how easy or difficult they were to deal with? I am thinking about starting a company expressly for the purpose of funding lap band operations. Also, how long would they fund it, etc. (Ie, what were the repayment terms?)

Any insight you can give me could well result in creating a new, bandster-friendly funding source.

Thanks, Brad

Hey Brad.

I applied at Capital One - the max term of financing is 5 yrs - and the range of rates and everything was listed on their website.

what they quoted me on my approval for $15,000 5 yr loan was a payment of $313/mo. I forget the exact rate but it was something like 8.99%. Sadly, even though I "Qualify" for the loan, in real life, I can't afford the payments!

I applied online and had an answer back pretty quickly.

**Caution**

As a mortgage underwriter I have to caution you against applying for multiple loans - as the inquiries from when they pull your credit WILL affect your score. (and every lender WILL pull your credit.)

If you think that it is something you are really going to use - then by all means apply and get an answer - but if you are just checking out options and not ready to proceed, then I would say to hold off on applying.

:]

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
