I am new to the banding, I was banded on yesterday. I was very nervous and

afraid. I am still in the same state of mind. I am sore and filled with gas.

I started my weight gain around the time of having y child and from that moment my weight has been crazy. People still ask me am I pregnant or when is the baby due. My son is 3 and will make 4 in September, so you know thats depressing. My weight was 188 prior to surgery and I have a goal of getting to 135 - 140. My clothes don't fit properly and I hate shopping. I don't find bras that look right on me either. I made the decision to change and my change has started.

Congratulations on the start of your journey. I wish you much success. You may want to try Gas-X strips and a heating pad for the gas. Make sure you walk as much as possible. Good luck to you.

Your body goes through all kinds of changes after you have the surgery. I would call your GYN and ask them if it's normal for your cycle to come because you have the IUD. I know for me, when I was heavier my cycle was all messed up. After I lost the weight my cycle started to become normal again. Of course I am pre-menopausal now so wouldn't you know my cycle is being weird again.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
