Has anyone gotten the ?Super Sleevectomy? (TGVP) with Dr. Jose Rodriguez?

Recommended Posts

I am talking with BeLiteWeight.com right now about getting the “Super Sleevectomy” at a Mexico facilities (Star Medica Hospital, 15 mins across the border from El Paso, Texas in Juarez, Mexico at the cost of $6,200. Has anyone already gotten this done or heard anything about it? Has anyone had Dr. Jose Rodriguez before?

HERE IS THE INFO THEY SENT ME:

What is super sleeve?

Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy is not as simple as any other gastrectomy. Gastric tube size influences both the degree of weight loss and weight stability. A large sleeve predisposes to gastric dilatation (stretching) and weight regain. Inexperienced surgeons tend to create large tubes ( or to leave back large remnants of the gastric fundus. A standardized technique with a gastric capacity less than 100 ml (A) is mandatory in order to get the patient to achieve a durable weight loss.

The sleeve should be ’super’ which means a small gastric sleeve diameter and a higher degree of restriction. With the gastric capacity being restricted to 60-80gr and Ghrelin (the appetite hormone) totally suppressed, the resultant weight loss is predictable and comparable to those achieved with gastric by-pass (60-70% EWL), without any serious complication or side effects (e.g. Vitamin mal-absorption). We believe the ’Super Sleeve’ to be a very effective and safe bariatric solution even for super-obese patients.

Very strange first post! Most people start off on these boards by introducing themselves, giving a little background etc.

Instead you seem to be plugging a certain type of op and a certain Dr.

There is a sleeve board where you are more likely to get a response from someone who has been sleeved. Try posting your questions there as well.

I heard this is the most deadly form of weight loss surgery that there is and BeLiteWeight.com are known as killers!

Not really but I like screwing up advertisements.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
