I was banded yesterday. I'm still have horrible nausea. I tried some oatmeal this morning and could barely stomach it. Liquids are not so bad. When could you eat pureed food without discomfort?

I'm 1 1/2 weeks out and was not allowed any food until 7 days post op. I didn't have any nausea.....I'm sorry your not feeling well. Maybe just stick to Protein shakes and liquids for the first week. Hang in there....it will get better.

I am 1 week out. Was on Clear Liquids only (Water, Crystal Light, No sugar fruit juices, tea, broth, sugar free Jello and italian ice) until today. Today I get to go on full liquids- Ensure/Boost drinks, Protein drinks, milk, yogurt, pudding, creamy Soups.

I dont get to pureed diet until Week 3.

Hi! I was banded 4/20 and would love to have some friends to share the journey. I'm in Oklahoma City. I get liquids only for the 1st 2 weeks and then get to start adding yogurt, oatmeal, etc. My issue is feeling nauseated after "eating" and being tired all the time.

Hi Allota BS! I am in Texas! So, you are still on liquids? Are you maybe drinking too fast/too much? I had a bad episode last week myself. I drank a protien smoothy too fast I guess, then left to take kids to school. I really started feeling nauseous and terrible. I made it to the school, and barely made it home. I was really scared... I did not know what was going on, and if I was going to have to pull off the road and call for help! I got home OK, and took a supository for nauseousness, then laid down for a couple hours. I was fine then, just weak and drained. The only thing I think it could have been was drinking it too fast. Now I take my time, no more episodes so far.

This week I get to start soft foods like scrambled eggs and baked fish mashed up. So this will be interesting!

Why don't you email me privately and we can exchange emails? Then we can journey together!

Hi all. I was banded 20th april - also in Australia. liquid only diet for first week, then mushy food for 1 - 2 weeks. Too scared to deviate from the instructions!! Does anyone know when it is safe to have a full shower, I have a little tape over the incisions and I think they are glued.

HI! I'm 7 days out and actually doing pretty good so far. I'm ready to start my soft foods but have to wait until Tuesday. I've been reading about people eating oatmeal yogurt creamy Soups etc.. on the FULL liquid?? I am not allowed those things at all. I am not allowed anything that are carbs., Pretty much for full liquids I just got to add Protein Shakes. I've been doing ok and have lost 13 pounds total ( pre surg diet and after surg) so I guess it's working

I didn't really have any problems from surgery other than the gas and hicupps. What have you all been dealing with?

Does anyone know when it is safe to have a full shower

I've been taking them since the 2nd day of shower. DR said it was fine, just not to submerge myself in tub or pool.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
