3 days post op, horrible indigestion

I am 3 days post op and I am experiencing horrible indigestion. No help with tums or milk of magnesia. I have been walking but nothing is helping. Any suggestions?

What's your diet right now? At three days post op you should be on protein shakes and clear liquids only. If you are mixing your protein powder with milk, then maybe it's a problem with lactose.

did they give you any prevacid solutabs or any kind of meds to help with that? my doc gave me prevacid solutabs (they dissolve on the tongue) and something called reglan that supposed to help get the body regulated into digesting again or something. have you called your doc to see what they think? i am 8 days post op and still haven't really had indigestion issues although i did have that problem before. they repaired a hernia during surgery though and i think that has helped. i hope you feel better soon.

Gas X Strips really have helped me with the gas, indigestion pains:smile2:

I am one day post op and I had little indigestion. I was given acid relief meds through my IV that may have helped me. Call yr doc.

i am two days post op and i am having the same issue. I keep taking the gas x strips its it not working. I have only had clear liquids but i feel like i have a lump in my throat and i feel like i need to burp but cant.

i am now 13 days post op and not really have any issues (other than itchy incisions) but i remember the early post op days and i felt that weird "lump in the throat" feeling and feeling like i needed to burp but never was able to. i think that might just be part of how it feels at first. it slowly went away for me and probably will for you, too. it seems like everyday that goes by it gets better and better and you start feeling more normal again. i know that sounds frustrating (one day at a time) cuz i sure thought it did when i was one and two days post op, but it really is true. :)
