bye, bye band

thank you everyone!!!

If I am going to look at the bright side, yes, I have come along way...125lbs and I know I can do this on my own. I am not sure if i am going to be rebanded. I am going to go to weight watchers my sister has lost 50 lbs on tha tprogram.. so I thought I would give it a try..

The best advice I can give to all you bandsters is:

Do exactly what your Dr. tells you!

NEVER take medication if you dont know that you can! ask your band Dr. first...

take care of your band and dont abuse it at any cost!

I was on oral antibiotics for almost 2 month and I believe that it ate a whole in my band...again. NEVER NEVER take pills if your

not sure that you can...

I only hope that in my sadness and loss of my band I can inspire someone to take care of there band.

Love,

Francesca

Unfortunately I have a pretty good idea what you're going through. Congrats on your insurance paying for the removal - wish I'd had that!!

And the good news is - There IS life after the band!

We're here for you! Please keep us posted, and stick around - this is the most well-rounded board I know of, and we need EVERYONE.

Donali,

Right after the surgery I thought I was going to die, and then I was afraid I wouldn't... LOL I forget how many times the "normal" dosage of pain killers they had to give me, but once I got past that initial "wish I was dead" part it was a breeze.

Way easier than my gallbladder surgery. I drove myself home the next day (sister was with, just in case) about 30 miles, and honestly it was almost like nothing had happened. Went shopping with Mom the next day, didn't feel a thing. If it hadn't been for those first 5 hours or so directly after the surgery... YIKES!!

Wishing you the best.

(((hugs)))

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
