Help me please!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I just got a fill yesterday. It was definitely too much. When I had some Water after, I didn't think it was that bad, buT the whole train ride home I was burping or trying to make my self burp. It was horrible. The worse part was trying to sleep. I can't sleep at all. It feels like food is sitting in my chest and I haven't had anything to eat. I keep throwing up white foam. This has to be my own saliva because there is nothing in my system.

I don't think my doctor's office is open on Fridays. I can't go a whole weekend like this, let alone another night. Does anyone know how I can get an emergency unfill from anywhere in NYC? Where should I look? I don't want to go to the emergency room and wait for hours for them to tell me they can't do it. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEBODY!!!!!

You should call your Dr's office because they should have emergency service. They can tell you where to go. There are a number of surgeons who do this in NYC and perhaps they have a relationship with one of them. But if you don't get an answer try the emergency room at NYU medical. The largest bariatric practice in the city is there and they are sure to be able to help you, I would expect. But call your Dr's office first.

I agree, you absolutely must call your surgeon's office. You can't live like that for the weekend. If no answer the ER is the place to go.

Good luck.

So I called my doctor's office yesterday. Turns out Fridays are the days they interview new residents for their program. My doc wasn't available, but one of the other doctors took a break during the interview process to give me an unfill.

I feel a lot better, but it is still very tight. I didn't have trouble sleeping or swallowing my own saliva, but I am full off of a half a glass of juice. He told me to stay off solids until today, but I don't see me eating food any time soon.

I assume this is what real lap band life is like. Let the real weight loss begin.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
