Sounds like you just stretched a stitch that holds your port in place. Or maybe pulled a little muscle. It should be ok. Back off on lifting heavy stuff or working out really hard for a week and it should go away. If not I would recommend calling your doctor.

I had port pain and that little biting in near my side for quite awhile. It finally went away and I feel nothing now. It takes a little longer for some people.

Thats awesome. I had my surgery on 10/22 .. and I have lost about 24 lbs since then. Do you have restriction? I dont eat much especially in the morning or at lunch, I am too tight. I am just bummed that i am losing slower now only 1-2 lbs a week now... How are you doing? I am not eating my Protein like I would like since I barely can eat anything. Some days are better than others for me. I was hoping I would be able to get another fill before the end of the year but I am not going to get one since I dont need one at this time. Please tell me how you are doing? Thx!

You are actually right on track. The average weighloss is about 1-2 lbs a week. You aren't supposed to take it off fast with the lapband. Gastric Bypass makes the weight come off faster. However with the bypass there are several downfalls. One of them being is that the bypass actually stops working after 2 years because it can't be adjusted anymore. So in the long run the lapband is the better choice. Taking the weight off slower is better for you also.

I had one fill also and I am feeling restriction. I feel more restriction in the afternoon and evening. I try and weigh and measure all of my food. I do get my 2 protein supplements in a day which is not only good for keeping you full during meals, it also helps in the healing process.

As of Dec. 3 I lost 29lbs since surgery. 40lbs all together with the pre-op diet. I try not to weigh myself at home and only update my weight when I go for my fills. My next fill is January 13.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
