    Reflux 2 days post op

I was revised to bypass because I developed GERD after sleeve. Fun times. 🤦‍♀️ It’s super common unfortunately.
  2. I was revised in KCMO self pay at KC Bariatrics. I felt the price was reasonable and they offer finance options.
  3. I had the sleeve done in 2017 and a revision to a SIPS on Oct. 4th. I've noticed that foods I could stomach with the previous surgery, my body doesn't like now. Such as eggs and salmon. Sent from my Pixel 5 using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Thanks to all that answered and gave advice prior etc. I screwed up and said I was getting a DS when in fact I am looking for the best price (self Pay) for a Sleeve to Bypass revision. I would very much appreciate everyone's knowledge and help if you know a good place with low prices for this surgery. The closer to the west coast as possible is best as I am in Seattle. Looking forward to hearing from this great forum community! Thank you all! David

Is your revision from sleeve to bypass? Don't worry, for what I hear and read on here the recovery is almost identical. In addition, the pre-op and post-op diets are just about the same too. I had bypass. 10 day limited pre-op diet. Post-op was 2 weeks clear/full liquids, 2 weeks pureed foods, 2 weeks soft foods and then slowly transition back to a normal diet. Take it slow, test new foods 1 at a time so if you get sick you know exactly what caused it. You got this!
  8. So, I recieved a recieved a sugery date of 12/08/2022. Revision due to an ulcer, GERD, hernias and esophagus damage. I should be happy! However, I am just scared! Help!!!! Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. It’s my 5th surgiversary (and I almost forgot to post about it). I wish more people from when I joined were still around but most are long gone. I am grateful to everyone that sticks around and recorded their progress long term, so I am trying to do the same. VSG date:11/7/2017 RNY revision date: 7/15/2019 highest weight: 260-270 ish consultation weight: 250 (?) VSG surgery weight: 243 RNY surgery weight: 157 lowest weight:145 current weight: 159 favorite weight: 155 Highlights from 5yrs of food and body Before WLS Most noticeable weight loss to me After plastics
  10. Hi everyone, I am scheduling my DS surgery presently. I am revising my Sleeve to the DS. Being self pay, I needed to find the best price to help out. Here in Washington, it runs about 30/40K. I found that just outside Orlando I can get it done for about a third of the price. (not going to Mexico..had a bad experience already) I am very worried about the plane flight back right after surgery. Can't imagine needing to use the bathroom to poop on the plane. I would die of embarrassment I think. Please tell me your memories of right after your procedure etc. Also, will this surgery mean that I will need to be near a bathroom whenever I am out and about??? Thanks so much!
  11. I am a 2x revision patient, starting with LapBand in 2011, followed by VSG in 2019 due to severe Lapband complications, and finally GBP in 2021 after even more complications with the VSG. I have been fighting the good fight for ELEVEN YEARS now, and trust me when I say I was so ready to give up many times during the process, but I am so glad that I never did! I am officially down 152 lbs, and have been maintaining within 3-4 lbs since Feb 2022. I am to the point that I am ready to start looking into plastics. After so many years of fighting to get to where I am, I love the way I look and feel.... when I'm fully dressed. But seeing all the loose skin is a hard mental hit every single time. All the work, tears, pain, determination.... it all feels like it's for nothing when I see the destruction it all left behind. After a lot of research on various options, I am heavily leaning towards the Beltline procedure due to the amount of work that will need to be done. Does anyone have any experience with this? I would love to hear all about it! Pros, cons, horror stories, success stories... I want it all!

    What does full feel like?

I’m about 6 weeks post op from a band to sleeve revision- I’m wondering what full feels like for most with the sleeve? I notice it feels different and usually I’ll hiccup or burp and that’s a signal I’ve been reading. Looking for guidance tho from successful people out there!
  14. Hello, on Sept 14th I had a revision from the lap-band to the Gastric Sleeve. Pre-surgery liquid diet I went from 235 to 212 on the liquid diet for about 10 days. I have only lost a total of 2 pounds, and I am 7 weeks out. I am very frustrated at this point. I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing. I could walk a little more, but other than that I am only consuming around 800 calories a day. I am not comprehending the science of this. I burn around 1600 calories a day, so why am I not losing weight? I do need to mention that I am going through menopause and had to go off of my hormones for 4 weeks after surgery but have been back on them now for 3 weeks. I was also diagnosed with a under-active thyroid about 9 months ago and am on 25MG of thyroid medication. I am at the point where I just feel no matter what I do I am not going to lose. Has anyone else experienced no weight loss right after surgery and how long did it last? I am trying to stay positive, and everyone keeps telling me not to pay attention to the scale, but I am a numbers person. I absolutely dread going to my next dietician appointment in two and half weeks because my last one which was my first post op appointment, she told me I should be losing more than 2 pounds in one month. I guess I just need to know if others have experienced this. I am about ready to give up.

    Eating

Lucky you. It will be harder when you have no restriction. It's essential that you use this period to learn how to eat differently and continue to hold the line. I lost half of my weight-loss prior to surgery. Because of complications, after my RNY>RNY revision surgery I had three endoscopy procedures which stretched my pouch and anastomosis. After a few weeks I had very little physical restriction. I've had to work very hard to eat differently and continue to lose weight. My post surgical loss is now equal to what I lost prior to surgery, and I struggle every day with cravings. I need to keep my calorie count in the area of 1000-1200 per day. I eat almost no sugar, flour, white potatoes, rice, or processed foods. But--it's worked and I will continue to do this for life, recording every morsel in my (Baritastic). app I know that as soon as I start to return to old eating habits I will regain what I have lost. It's hard work, but so worth it. Hang in there!
  20. I just wanted to give an update on my experience with ESG after having a VSG 8 years ago. I lost 120 pounds on the VSG and regained 60 pounds. The surgeons I talked to were hesitant to do a surgical revision due to potential complications. I did an ESG revision 5 weeks ago. Since then I lost 10% of my body weight, which is over half of what I had regained. I was very pleaded with the ESG procedure itself, I had it done on a Wednesday and was back to work on Monday. I had lost 4 weeks of work with the VSG. My program at the University of Michigan does a full 6 week liquid diet which I contribute to most of the success. I think the ESG success needs to be talked about more. It's lower risk with a speedy recovery.

  23. I was the same way with both the vsg and after my revision to rny. Usually people post if they have problems. When things go so smooth, we just talk calories... Etc. You're doing great.

Tips for getting into the revision mindset

These comments are encouraging. I’m revising from my VSG (2015) to RNY in 8 days and I have SOMUCH anxiety about it! I’ve lost more weight this year than I did post VSG thanks to a combination of severe GERD, aerophagia from my CPAP, and Ozempic. It’s worth it if it resolves the GERD and aerophagia (maybe sleep apnea altogether but I won’t hold my breath 😜). I’m just worried I’m trading one set of problems for another. One specific thing I’m worried about is immediately post op. I still can feel viscerally the heaving/gagging in PACU once I was extubated and they were trying to wake me up. It felt like I could breathe due to those dry heaves! I’m scared of going through that again!

    Why sleeve to mini bypass?

I am revising to MGB tomorrow due primarily to weight loss. I never had issues with GERD or heartburn. I didn't take care of my sleeve and when I tried getting back to basics 5 years out it just didn't quite work, I just couldn't lose more than a couple pounds. I went to my surgeon in Mexico to see if a resleeve were the way to go but he advised against it for me. He said MGB is way less invasive and will really help me with the weight loss I'm hoping for. I am self pay so after a lot of research I am doing what seems best for me.
