From the album: just me pics

I think thy said after 2 weeks. I notice everyone else gets them right after though. They also told me everything had to be room temp. Everything. It makes all of it, very unappealing. I appreciate the tips I'm having my husband pick me up something with some electrolytes here in about an hour. I just am tired of all the sweet flavors. It's crazy how much the surgery changes your tastes and desires. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

hey bud you are 7 and 1/2 months PO, down 115 lbs OMG!!!!!! don't hurt your back but...... take a few bows don't hurt your arm, but.........you can pat yourself on the back too stalls are nasty, but we all have to deal with them. you want to loose 50-60 more lbs? don't worry it will happen 3 weeks, no weight loss, I think you are in a "regular" stall that hopefully will end sooner than later when you are closer to goal, thats when those last lbs. seem to take forever before they are gone God grant me patience, just hurry up about it good luck

It sounds like you are doing fine. There is even a good argument or two for doing a small maintenance period after about 100 lbs. Stalls are common, just seacrh the topic here you will come up with 100's of topics and replies. When we lose weight it isn't just about the burning the calories thus reducing the lipids. You body can store other things it anticipates it will need as you lose weight. It will shed them, however. You can have a stall break quickly, or slowly, a pound at a time, or WHOOSH! It's Getting Close...don't know if I can do this
hstrayorn posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Next Thursday is my last appointment and I make my surgery date...but i scared. I'm not sure if I can do this? I've been cheating on my dieting for about a week and a half. If I can't manage under the pressure now, how will I be able to after -
I know I can have sf popsicles, but next week (all liquids, only on clear now) does that mean I can have sf fudgesicles? Thanks! Sleeved 9/4 by Dr. Kim in Dallas! Robyn

I Know the two weeks is for the benefit of reducing my liver so I have been strong and not cheated at all. What I can't figure out is why I've gained .2 lbs exactly everyday for three days in a row. Seems a little odd to me. Hope I start losing after surgery.

I'm 4 months po and down 105 from my highest weight and 74 from my weight right before surgery. I wasn't cleared by my Dr to have veggies, especially raw ones until I was 3 months po. The first month I could only have protein shakes and other fluids. Only after that I could start with a scrambled egg and other soft foods for 2 additional weeks and then anything I want after that point. From my experience once I started actually eating again my weight loss slowed down. I dropped 34 lbs the first month. I still focus on protein first and if I can a bite or 2 of veggies. If I can't get them in at meal time I will have a couple baby carrots for a snack in the evening. I think u are doing great on your weight loss so far. Like my Dr says and repeatedly tries to beat into my head, "you didn't gain the weight over night so you're not going to lose it over night either". I average now between 14-18 lbs a month which he says is average.

If I had to guess, you're taking too big of bites and/or eating too fast. Because of it you're not eating enough and hungry often. Try small bites, and I mean tiny. Chew it until mush and put down the fork and pause between bites. When I finally hit the Green Zone, I had about a week of relearning how to eat. Once I got my bite size small enough I was fine. Here's a picture of the bite size next to my finger nail for comparison:

What mis73 said, entirely, couldn't say it better. I also had that lump feeling for 2 weeks.

No dumping---but a "stuck" feeling?
blondie66 replied to nursedennise's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Eat something with sugar over 25 grams and you'll experience dumping. The stuck feeling is the over stuffed feeling you get from eating protein such as steak and eggs. I couldn't stomach them at 9 weeks out. And now 19 months post up can eat very little protein...but I have lotsa of energy feel great and have lost over 130 pounds. I used protein shakes at 9 weeks out to meet my protein requirements. -
It really does get better! My husband had his surgery 2 weeks before me and its like we are both different people in the bed now! Can't wait till we lose more weight to see how much more fun we have... Lol

I started at 392, hon. And I haven't been below 259.5 since I was 18 (I'm almost 36, so HALF MY LIFE)..... I also didn't think I'd get "too far over 300" but didn't have a scale, got pregnant, ate All The Pie.... And there you have it. I could barely waddle, had a hard time wiping my own butt (wouldn't admit that except to anonymous strangers, hah) I nudged a few pounds off between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2013, and my surgery got scheduled for 2/10/14 with a pre-surgery check in on 1/27 (also the day I started my liver reduction diet).... On 1/27 I weighed 375. I was fitting into a size 28, kind of. On 2/10 I weighed 355 (20 lbs in two weeks, but 1000 cals a day will do that)..... It's been exactly 6 months since I started the liver reduction diet ... And not every day has been perfect of course, there are plateaus and drops and more plateaus.... But today I weigh 257. That's 118 lbs in 6 months. My size-20 jeans are getting loose. I bought myself two very glamorous dresses in size 14-16 and they fit delightfully. I have gone from 3x t-shirts to XL or L. And still going. I have 87 pounds to go. My thighs sag like a shar-pei puppy now and you know what? I freakin flaunt it. My belly sags and if I lean forward and tighten my abs, my belly creases from top to bottom. Weird. My lower belly looks like a butt. And I have promised myself a bikini at 250.... Not a "flattering two-piece suit" no a freaking bikini because I have earned it. You can do this.... Surgery will HELP.... And you can step into a more aware, more mindful way of eating. Because now it matters!!! Now you are stepping into being SOMEONE, not hiding behind food anymore..... and you will LOVE the changes that happen in your body.

my Lovenox hurt today!
honk replied to MaybeBanding26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lovenox thins in a different manner than coumadin. I am not a nurse but I think there is some kind of chemical difference. Getting to a theraputic level with coumadin can take about 5 days. I think somehow coumadin is stronger and there is a higher risk of hemeraging after a surgery. They give lovenox to prevent bloodclots post surgery and then move you onto coumadin after a few days. I came off coumadin a few weeks prior to surgery, had lovenox at the hospital and then went back to Coumadin after surgery. Have to say it's a hassle going to the doctors office weekly until they get the coumadin to the perfect level. And the take one pill today and half a pill tomorrow. -

I have been going back and forth about WLS for 5 years and I finally decided to go ahead with everything. I have had all tests and medical appointments and my information was submitted on February 8th, well fast forward two weeks and I still have no answer. I called the insurance company on Monday to discover they had no record of receiving the information, so I got in contact with my coordinator and information was finally received on the 18th so now I start to wait again. I feel drained, its sucking all the life out of me waiting for an answer. I want to get prepared for WLS but I can't get excited until I hear that I am APPROVED. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly from here on out. I have a surgery date and I 'm ready to tell them when I'll be taking off work. Come one Highmark BCBS!!! Okay DONE VENTING...

The only thing bad about you is your penchant for exaggeration. You gave two forks of cake a rating of three bads. No way. Two bads and not a penny more. Keep it up, Chickadee, and you'll have to sit out the next three scene parties.

I'm a week post op and my dermabond (glue) is peeling of my incisions. Is this alright? They didn't say when it should come off when I was at my appointment Tuesday. I don't go back until May 4 to get a fill. Has anyone else had dermabond? When did it come off?

Oh Lord have mercy. What a huge emotional state you must be in, so sorry. I am glad you came on here to ask for support. Can you lean on a close family member? Or a minister? My first granddaughter, Alexis died at 18mos at the babysitter's. Funeral was the coldest iciest day in February and the blackest day of my life. Then 5 months later there was a murder-suicide in my family. I was shaken to my core and had to talk to my priest several times as I could not reconcile the anger and disbelief - it was my brother and his illicit girlfriend, they were both married. He had three grown daughters and she had two little girls that were left motherless. I cried and prayed and cried and prayed, it was not the brother that I had known. That was 20 years ago and I still have no answers to it. Turning to food will not really provide any fix for your anger and grief, as soon as the food is consumed it will be there just as big as before. There is no going back. Don't be too strong, go ahead and feel the grief. I wish I could hug you right now.

I almost have a surgery date but don't know which surgery is right
WhtWdUGive620 replied to Hollyhock's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congratulations on being so persistent and dedicated to your new journey! I just turned 60 and a few weeks before my birthday I got the sleeve. I chose it because it's less invasive, even though my starting weight was 361, which is pretty high on the spectrum, 5 months out now and I'm two pounds away from my 100-pound mark. Just keep asking questions and choose whichever surgery you feel comfortable with. I'm so glad I chose the sleeve but agree with one of the posters who mentioned something about problems with heartburn, which started in my sixth week, but has really gotten so much better. My doctor has me on famotidine which is less problematic for the future. I only take it when I really need it. Good luck! Sent from my LG-H740 using the BariatricPal App -
I am 5 weeks post op and on soft foods.....thank god. Anyways, I am freaking hungry. I try my hardest not to snack in between meals because I know that is not good. But if I eat at 11 i am hungry by 230-3. And I don't know what to do. I have contacted my hospital staff since they told me anytime I need help to call them but I had to leave a message. Right now I am ok with still being hungry, like some people say that the hunger leaves them but I'm ok having the normal hunger but this wanting to eat every 4-5 hours is not cool. Any ideas on what I can do to help that? Oh I am taking ant-acids
