  1. I saw a friend a few days ago whom I hadn't seen in a couple of months. She was going on about how much weight I've lost. When we were leaving, she said, "You need new pants, yours look loose." I was laughing, because all of my slacks had been falling off so I had just gone and bought 2 pairs of new ones the day before and I was wearing one of them. I guess I should have gone down another size? LOL. I'm going to exchange the second pair for the next size down instead of wearing them. Actually I don't think they would fit quite yet, but hopefully soon!! I'm down 4 pants sizes since surgery in Feb! Down in tops and undergarments also.

    I'm wearing pantihose again!!!

Congratulations! That's a great NSV. I'm with you -- pantyhose make me feel very feminine and like I look better in clothes. I should get a pair out and try them on....

    I'm wearing pantihose again!!!

Congratulations llewis on your NSV....however, I'm with Wavydaby....I hate pantyhose too. Did the corporate scene for over 30 years and got so sick and tired of pantyhose. The burning inner thighs from them rubbing, the sweating, the stinky feet.....and yes, I bathed on a regular basis....LOL. I hope I never have to do the pantyhose thing again. I wear very dressy formal pant suits when attending functions like Weddings.....they sometimes look like a female version of a tux. Again, congrats.....I'm happy for you. Carol
  4. Before I lost weight I was never cold; I was always warm/hot. No, cold is not the most comfortable situation, but to me, it is a celebration of change! I would rather wear a jacket, sweatshirt or even a coat (hardly EVER wore a coat before!) than almost 50 extra pounds for warmth! Besides, now I can sit in a ball on the sofa, reading or watching tv, with my feet under me and my knees drawn up because my belly is no longer in the way...as much. lol Any other 'weird' NSV's?

    Nsv!

Today, I went to a friends job to pick up some cosmetics she ordered me. She works @ St. Vincent's Medical Center, which sits on a hill & had notoriously crappy parking. So after I finally weddgie my big 'ol truck into a teeny tiny space at the bottom of the hill, I headed up to the main hospital...that's when it hit me...the last time I was at this hospital, I was attending the first of many weight loss seminars, and I remember nearly passing out trying to walk up the hill And here I am, 14 weeks post sleeve today, down 70 lbs and I breezed up that hill without a pause! I wasn't even breathing hard when I got to the top! Tiny Sleevie has made the impossible possible & I am sooo blessed to be on this journey. I would do it all over again without a moment's hesitation! I feel wonderful...and yes, I'm looking pretty darn rockin' good these days! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. No more queen for me!!! Happy Valentine's Day everybody!
  11. I went to my primary care doctor yesterday because I have recently noticed that my resting heart rate is really low. I wasn't concerned until my blood pressure was running higher then normal on Monday. Well first the physician assistant came into the room and said it's the incredible shrinking woman, let's get you weighed. The my doc said that before surgery my heart rate was 70 and that it was lower now because of the exercise, particularly the running. I countered but that's the resting heart rate of an athlete, at which point she gently reminded me that I am running 9 miles at a clip and am an athlete!!! I have noticed that my weight is dropping quicker than my brain is able to comprehend and catch up. I still see myself as the big girl who needs to shop in Lane Bryant and def not as an athlete.

  13. Just got out of the shower and for the first time in as long as I can remember, I was able to wrap my towel around myself, secure it (like a dress, kind of), and be completely covered!!! So stinkin' excited!!
  14. Hey everyone! Just wanted to share with my favourite nsv with everyone, my first 5k walk is officially under my belt. I came in in under 50 minutes I am very happy with my time, I was actually anticipating being well over an hour but determination kept me going. Its amazing to see from this end how much weight was holding me back.
  15. So I went to a wedding this Sunday I had this picture taken and I can't believe how skinny my neck looks

@@Griggs2alr - the small goals are the BIGGEST ones sometimes. Keep trying on clothes you haven't worn for NSVs. Don't forget to measure yourself NOW for the stalls that will mess with your head. Inches "lost" are SO much fun to lose

    6 Month Anniversary

Hey Koala, I am so happy for you. You just described some of the nsv's that I hope will be coming for me too. I can't wait to go and buy cute clothes off the rack. Well done. You have worked hard for it too, the band was an aid. By the way I love Koalas too.:biggrin1: Susannah
  19. This is going to be short and sweet. Everyone keeps on saying how they have NSV (non scale victories) and can feel their clothes getting looser or falling off completely and while those are fabulous victories, I'm a numbers girl. So here I am baring it all - the weight was pretty hard to disclose to begin with but now I'm going to share my measurements. My hopes are to be able to document how steadily I lose these inches (hopefully many and quickly). I did take "before" pictures last night but have not had an opportunity to upload them yet, those will come later. So on to the public mortification All in Inches Left Side Right Side Bicep 18.5 17.5 Fore Arm 13.5 12.75 Thigh 35.5 34 Calf 22.5 21.5 All around Hips 60 Waist 47.5 Chest 44.5 Boobs 49.5 Neck 14 Sizes 22 pants (snug but 24 are very loose) 18/20 top & XXL 40/42 DDD This is where I start, I'm not proud of it but I look forward to seeing the numbers come down.

Holy COW...I just hugged my knees...

    Great NSV. Good for you!

    NSV!

Congrats!! I find NSV's more rewarding than a number on the scale.
  22. I know it's a total noob question, but what are NSVs?
  23. Twice, I was out walking this past summer,,I made it about 1/4 mile and it took me about 10 minutes to do that. I ended up in ICU both times due to respiratory distress because of a rare autoimmune disease I have..it sent me into a Myasthenia Gravis crisis. My muscles in my chest wall just couldn't do the work..not to mention the extra weight those muscles had to try and lift. Today,,I walked at 2 mph on my treadmill for a mile!!!!!..no distress, no pain,,just energy and enthusiasm. I just thank God that this is finally happening for me. Steroids put most of the weight on and by golly I'm going to fight to get this weight off and get well!!!
