    Hi!

I live in Washington too. I'm 22 and I know how you feel. You may be ready to do some light pe after a week, but everyone is different. If you don't want to tell people you had LapBand surgery you can always tell them you had to have your gallbladder removed or something, but really it's no ones business unless you choose to make it their business. I'm always around if you need to talk...oh by the way my name is Holli Good luck on your journey!!!

    Happiness is...

KC - Maybe once a week I experience a 'happy night' like this one; I miss the days of thoughtless, carefree movements (I'm about 6.5 weeks post-op.) My point is this - - don't worry. Some bloating, some less than satisfactory bathroom time? No big deal if it means we're going to have a long life, feel better and look better!
  3. 36 since surgery - the other 10 during 2 week pre op.

    fruit

I did not dare try cantaloupe 2 weeks post-op, but I did eat watermelon. I would chew it up, drink the juice, and spit out the little bit of tissue. Loved it cold and fresh.

    Doctors in MN

I had bcbs of MN an went to mayo in rochester, it took about 6 months with a few doctor visits, and a 6 week psych thing. BCBS tol me mayo was highly respected and insured me in less than 2 weeks over the holidays. Mayo did all the paperwork, an they in't make me o a million things in rochester, since i was from mankato, they helped me find a psych there, and only made me visit when totally necessary, scheduling oc appointments all on same days, they are very accomidating, but expensive (my surgery was $28,000, but i din't have to pay a cent) well worth it to me.

    Muffin Meals?

Last week I also clicked on The World According to Eggface...and I really feel that I am going to enjoy my new lifestyle once I'm sleeved...most of her recipes sound so good!!!
  7. I'm a month post-op and I'd say week 2 / 3 are the hardest. I still struggle as I have no appetite and nothing sounds good. I've come to the point where I really don't like to eat. It is hard to prepare food when nothing sounds good. When I do eat it tastes good, but of course, 2-3 bites and I'm done. It is the learning to listen to your body / stomach that I think is the hardest. Knowing what it is trying to tell me

Dr. Todd Belott - Great Doctor

Congrats Moemoe455 on getting banded tommorrow. Dr Belott is a wonderful doctor, very thorough and honest. Karen is also very helpful and she's easy to talk to. He did my surgery a year ago today also at West Jefferson. As of my weigh in 2 weeks ago I was down 112 pds. and have no regrets. I still have about 130 more to go. Good Luck tommorrow.

    pregnant??

If it were me I would wait a week test again then go from there. What ever you decide it will have to be what you think is best for you.
  12. Hi All, I've completed all my pre-op testing and will be getting a call this coming week for the surgery date. Problem is I might be pregnant and it's too soon to test. I don't want to go through all this just to have it canceled, I also don't want to have severe complications because my weight. I know nothing is certain yet, but I just want to make sure I have all the information I need time make an informed decision if I am preggers. Crazy as it sounds, can I still have surgery if I'm still very early on? Is there a medical weightloss program for pregnant women? Please feel free to ask me any questions if you need to.

Christmas Eve. I've got a killer headache again. Funny, I get it right after I walk. I wonder if there is a coninsidence? TERRIBLE eating today!! For breakfast I had 2 Krispy Kremes and a Poorboy sandwich!! I'm really regreting it, though, cuz it made me nausous and I'm burping garlic to the max. Ick. Couldn't even think about lunch because I was so full from breakfast. I did my 50 minutes of walking, and went 2.0 mph today- much higher than the past week. I also did my streches for what it's worth. I didn't feel much of a strech on most of them i think cuz i'm so heavy. i MIGHT do strength training tonight if i can get rid of this headache. want to open presents soon, but i feel so lousy just not in the mood. i took a tylenol with codiene, but they didn't work last night. i hope it will work today. dean and jerry are both sick, too. i'm just worried about dean with his lungs. we increased his flovent to 3 puffs a day until he can get rid of the cough. i pray he gets better soon.

    I'm Mad

I called the doctors office today,THEY FORGOT ABOUT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have'nt sent anything into insurace, i've been going insane for about two weeks waiting for today(doctors office told me to call)Now i have to start all over again......................I'm so saddddddddddddddddd and P.O'd, I'm going to a different doctor(i'm such a baby)
  16. So I just got the call today that my surgery was going to have to be postponed a week due to the surgeons availability/schedule. Instead of July 6th, it will be July 14th. I didn't realize I was so attached to the original date. I'm sitting here silently crying because it got moved a week. When I was speaking to the scheduler on the phone, I literally felt my stomach drop when she said it. Instant depression. Can one grieve a literal DATE for something like a surgery??? I'm all kinda in my emotions and it feels really weird because of the reason why. For anyone who might have experienced a postponement - is this normal?
  17. My doctor was really cool about the band when I told him I was getting it done. He seemed really interested in the nuances of it. His office is about three blocks from my house. So if you decide to use him then let me know when you have an appt and if I am not out of town then I would love to take you to lunch or something. His name is Balbir Singh, MD (pronounced SING)-He is an internist and deals mainly with high blood pressure patients. I go to see him for everything though. He is wonderful and the staff is sweet. His office is located at 14624 Sherman Way Suite # 309 Van Nuys, CA 91405 His phone number is 818-988-2190 His office nurse is Clara If she is not there talk to Carmen

    Psych Eval worries

I just had my evaluation about a week ago. They ask about your history with weight, support, how you plan to be successful, why you want surgery, etc. My Dr. asked what sort of things am I going to do post surgery that I don't or can't do now. The whole session lasted about 45 minutes. He also added some good advice about eating habits and how to be successful. It wasn't as useless as I thought it was going to be going in.
  20. I agree with you. I am 17 days post op. I can tell the first week was rough, mentally mostly but it got easier.I got the hang of it now. First post op visit today so hopefully my doc will be happy. Good luck with your journey it will be worth it.

    am I eating enough?

Seems like enough to me but honestly, my doctor said try to get the Protein in...so I drink a Protein shake every morning..although I feel I eat a lot and I eat what I want but it is usually healthy I haven't gained a pound and I am 25 weeks...so I would keep a book of what you eat and talk to you doctor about the amount of food your taking in..only he/she can tell you if your eating enough..and if you don't eat enough your baby will get the nutrients from you regardless...congrats  Also keep taking your prenatal Vitamins, I actually take extra folic acid but you have to talk to your doctor about that..
  23. Hey! Im Jewels. How are you all? I live in Philadelphia, and have just swithced insurance's so that I can get the lap band done. Ive been on the forum's for about 2 weeks now. Ive read alot of posts and do everyday. A little about me: Im 5'3 - 205 lbs - I have a lower BMI of 36.3. I have an appointment with Dr.Kowalski on Tuesday of this week. (11/17/08) I think I may have sleep apnea, but the receptionist told me that even if I dont my insurance (Keystone Health Plan East) is very easy to get an approval from and that she has seen people with bmi's of 35 get approved with no co morbid's. Which I do not have - I dont have the traditional co morbid's. The doc I have chosen does consider knee joint pain and low back pain a co morbid and my insurance doesnt have any requirements except it being med nec. So I think I have a good shot of having it approved. Im super nervous, but super exicted! Has anyone here seen Dr Kowalski? Or is anywhere from the Philly area? Any tips or pointers? Hope to hear from you all!
  24. I am scheduled for August 21st in Los Angeles, California. Im really excited and looking for some to share this jouney with. I am currently 268 and I dont have to do the full liquids for two weeks. What's your status???
  25. Congratulations to all of us who have been sleeved or yet to have our operations!!! My surgery is in 2 weeks and I am also going up and down but I'm mostly up and think of the things that will give me pleasure again such as exercising, shopping for clothes and wearing jeans. I can't wait!! I am feeling excited about never having to "diet" again - think of all the time and money we will have for other things!
