Sorry I just figured out how to check visitor message please forgive me!!!! You asked MONTHS ago how I was feeling - I was very weak and sore for about a week after surgery (5/23) but of course now I'm great. At a stand still as far as losing goes, but I have to get back on track with eating and exercise. How have you been doing?

Hi there I saw what you said about your starting point and I am on the same road I started my journay 3 months ago and am down 28 lbs and now awaiting insurance aproval. I am scared !!!

Yay you've lost 16 lbs! Congrats. My last appt for my 6 month supervised diet is Friday of next week...October 3rd. All my paperwork gets sent in October 6th and then I wait for approval. Surgery should be in 6 or 7 weeks! November 3rd or 10th most likely.

I hope you get your 2nd fill soon. I have my lasy nutritional appt for my 6 month diet on October 3rd. Super excited that everything is finally going to be sent into the insurance and then I will actually meet Dr. Kaplan. Everything seems to be going so slow now. Cause it's so close. I plan on going to lots of support groups if they are at good times...depending on my mom's work schedule cause my car is pretty much DEAD. LOL. Anywho haven't heard from you lately keep me posted on how you're doing. I am almost in bandland with you!! 6 to 7 more weeks until I finally get banded!

Hello Lilbit, yes i have a date for Oct.24th. and i'm so anxious i can hardly contain myself right now. in 2weeks i will be starting the 2weeks supply of Optifast and then my surgery will be 2 weeks later. what about you? what's your date?

im good but wandering when i can eat next week what we can eat ive lost 28 pounds have had urs yet

I know what you mean about the never ending process... I waited a year... b/c of stupid insurance... but it is worth the wait!! I am in CO springs with my hubby... Denver is an hour drive away, but worth it for Dr. S... I would just call Dolly and talk with her A LOT. I'm assuming you are waiting on inurance/? .. that is how I got things to get done... she is awesome, I just think she has a lot of pts. she has to to deal with and you "bug" her, then she will remember you... LOL.. I sound awful, but it is true...did you have to go through the whole six month diet thing for insurance? I did... it's so crappy they make you do that, when you know what you have been through trying to loose weight in the past... Keep me updated on your slow progression to band land... it is frustrating having to wait... you just want it done and over with... but it is worth it!! I had my 2 week post op visit on Wed. and I've already lost 15lbs!! YAY!! hang in there!!

Glad you surgery went well. Harper had its problems...mostly in the surgery area. When I got to the floor (after waiting almost 3 hours for them to clean the room), the staff was great. They do seem to "lose things" like my family or my daughter's phone number. I did get gritchy right after surgery...but now life is much better. I pray your will recover well and that we will both be slimmer us! DAL

I'm about the same as you....I do get fuller faster then I did before surgery but, I haven't lost anything since I got my fill last week....Five more days until my next, I can't weight! I hope this next one works for both of us! Good Luck today, let me know how it goes!

hey kris thx for the reply...sorry it took so long to get back....hurricane gustav kinda messed things up here in louisiana.....but my surgery went on as scheduled sept 15 i am on day 3....still very sore....and shoulder pain is horrible ...but all in all im glad it is done and over.....cant wait for this journey to take me to new places.....

Wow, you have a long liquid and mushy food diet schedule. Although, I think my mushy diet is almost a normal diet anyway, so I don't anticipate to big of a change from going from mushy to real food. It's amazing how different these diets are.

My port is just above my waistline. I had my two week check up yesterday, and the doc said that as time goes on, and I continue to lose weight, it may move up just a bit more. Right now, what's left of the incisions feel a little sensitive at times. I feel like I'm healing pretty quickly. I think having older children, and not having to push myself too hard to soon has helped a lot in my recovery. - kiz

Hi there! I think we must have been babded about the same time. I was banded on the 3rd of July. I just got my first fill today. I am down 42 lbs. how are you doing?

Thanks for the comment! I am still trickling away at it. I had a rough week after my overfill, but doing much better. I would just eat slower. I am in Vegas this working, so I am hoping to be a good girl. Last month when I was here I did really good, but there is one of our DM's leaving this week, so I know there will be a few nights out this time. How is it going for you? I really need to increase my exercise. Just never seems to be enough hours in the day. My traveling should slow down after this trip. I should go to the occasional trip to my home office in Ontario, so I think that will help. I hope all is well with you. Have you gotten another fill yet?

I never heard anything bad from the nurses about my liver they said the surgery went perfect so i guess no news is good news! I just started today on full fluids like cream soups WOO HOO! Although I had a meal replacement shake this morning and I'm still so full that i skipped lunch. I'm feeling a lot better but my port area is SO painful. Everytime I move ..but its getting better. I have already lost 6.5 lbs in one week. I hope this continues to go that fast. So how are your nerves?

I do have very good restriction with 8cc. I was really struggling to lose until this last fill, then I had a little surge again. It definitely made a difference.

I would call and see if you doc will give you a fill.

Yeah in less then 2 weeks you will be in bandland. Good for you. A little advice after surgery you are going to sleep. As soon as you get up go walking it helps so much with the gas and also take the GAS X gel tablets they work quicker. Tell you husband to give you back massages that helped me so much. I didn't have alot of the gas pain that everyone talked about. Good luck!! KEEP ME POSTED!!!!!

I later found out that is not true!! I wish I would have shecked out Mississauga as well.I cant say much for the pre-op diet...I was really bad! They said I only had to do it for 3-5 days but I found it so hard to stick to it as I was driving down to Toronto. There isnt much for choices in fast food areas :s My fault I didnt try very hard either...but i was only 212 lbs and I figured my liver would be in so much better shape then someone who was 200lbs heavier than me and did the diet as well. I know I'm bad! lol PLEASE keep me updated as to how things go for you!

i had a consult at TLBC and was'nt impressed. the consult was'nt even with the doctor. i did'nt get a good feeling, so i made another consult appt. at surgical weight loss centre in mississauga and they were great. i'm being banded on nov.28/08.

from what you have said i'm glad i did'nt go with TLBC.

how are you doing? any advice on the 2 week pre-op diet? take care.
