  4. So it's just been a week since post-op but how much did u guys lose in the first week cos it feels like i an stuck on 10lbs and the scale wouldn't move any more

  5. An extra week of vacation?? Yes please!!!

  6. Well it's almost Monday...luckily it's a short week.

  7. Happy 38th Birthday mom-of-three!

  8. One week!!!! Aghhh!

  9. 3 days post-op on liquids diet for a week and already lost 7 lbs

  10. Tomorrow we head for home, but despite being on vacation I lost 2 pounds this week. I'm very happy.

  11. Now that I'm in maintenance mode, I'm getting a into a routine for my meals. Every day, I start out with 8-16 ounces of water, and then a proffee, which I have come to look forward to even the night before. My proffees are simply a black coffee with a protein powder added. There are three products that I cycle through: Premier Vanilla, Orgain Vanilla, and Dymatize Vanilla.

For second breakfast on workdays, I will have a low-fat yogurt with two tablespoons of PBFit and two teaspoons of no sugar added dried cherries. I will have ingested 35-45 grams of protein at this point between the two breakfasts, with 250-285 calories, and about 20 carbs.

For second breakfast on non-workdays, I will prepare two servings of plain, instant oatmeal with a tablespoon of an olive oil-based spread. This means I will have had 34 grams of protein, 365 calories, and 38 carbs. Non-workdays are when I am being very active with training sessions, so I allow myself more carbohydrate fuel.

Snacks on any day are always mixed nuts, even when I am travelling. I will have 0.2 cups of a blend that I make myself. It consists of dry roasted peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, and Brazil nuts. This is 5 grams of protein, 163 calories, and 7 carbs.

Breakfast and snacks have been the easiest to nail down. Lunch and dinner have more variables, and I prepare enough for leftovers. I concentrate on protein first, and then add vegetables. Typically tempeh, tofu, or Field Roast products with roasted or sautéed vegetables. Today, I will be eating leftovers from last night. Two ounces of tempeh with four ounces of roasted vegetables that consist of red and yellow sweet peppers, sweet potatoes, small purple potatoes, zucchini, and carrots. I will add a tablespoon of olive oil-based spread, break up 3 walnuts to sprinkle of top, and garnish with two tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. This particular meal will be 19 grams of protein, 377 calories, and 28 grams of carbs. Bear in mind that I do eat more carbs when I am not working, and I focus on ingesting healthy carbs instead of breads/crackers/chips/crisps.

It's a helluva journey and I'm thankful to be on it!

  12. Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.

I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

  13. Ok so 1 week and 1 day away from the rest of my life!! Thank u GOD and continue to walk with US..

  15. heyy, my first week sucked soooo bad, i had nausea the whole week, one day it was so bad i had to go to the ER, not fun! >.< so a week after (the friday after, aug 7th) i saw my surgeron and he gave me a better nausea med. soo it made me better for two weeks, and then friday night..the 21st..i ate something way to early..i feel so stupid..it was cheetos..ugh how stupid i know. but a few mins after eating some, i got sick so bad. i didnt have a PB though. saturday, i dry heaved like about 5 times (i did this one day in my first week too yet i had a barium swallow and everything was in place) but it made me feel better for awhile. ive felt sick for 5 days now(feeling a tiny bit better) i have this weird feeling in my throat that wont go away...i just want it gone and feel better again...

  16. Def can tell the difference in lifting and not. I am down 2 lbs not lifting. I seem to lose more when I do lift... So time to step back up lifting this week, I only did one day last week. Bad Tina. THe band is a tool you have to work with it.

  17. Relaxing while forgetting about a crazy work week. Ahhhh don't you just love Friday nights...

  18. Mr. at a client site, the Kid at school.  FINALLY!  After 2+ weeks I finally have the house to myself! #yay

  19. Good news and Meh news...

Meh: so I think I experienced/am experiencing my first stall-ish since surgery and now I get how frustrating it can be!  So annoying to wake up every morning to watch the scale report a gain or loss of the same 1.5 pounds for over 2 weeks.  *sigh*.  Some say put the scale away, but I log my weight every morning to get a daily moving average of my weight.  So long as this moving average is not heading upwards (which it isn’t and hasn’t since post-op) then I am good with my curent “minimalist” weekly weight loss rate, however small I think it is 🙄.

    However.

    The Good news:

To allow for some self back patting, and to remind myself of the bigger picture, I set a bunch of interim goals/milestones... a few of which are 10lbs increment weight loss goals:

So this morning, after hovering within 1.5 pounds of an interim goal for over 2 weeks, I weighed in at 164.8, and officially lost 70 lbs!  In 4 months.  That is 30% of my starting body weight.  Or the equivalent of my 10 year old neice. How crazy is that.

Next Goal: weigh in at 162lbs to be merely overweight (and not obese!)

  20. looking for a therapist this week as well as weighing in to start my 2nd supervised diet month.

2 weeks post op. 70 lbs down before surgery, down 10 more for this pic.
  23. I was on July 15th - so pretty close. It is slow and steady for me. I started at 263 and am at 229 as of this Saturday. Still not in the green zone so I still struggle with controlling my intake. However, I think I am consistently losing because I stay between 900-1200 cal a day and do zumba 2-3x a week. I am finally starting to see it in my clothes. Hopefully my next fill will get me out of bandster hell!! I think I am close because i do feel full when I remember to eat slow and focus on protein. Good Luck and let us know how your doing! PS. I must confess I had cheese pizza today.... extra zumba this week I guess...
  24. I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and am curious if I can have diet green tea. I bought a 20 oz bottle thinking its not carbonated but the bubbles at the top made me a little nervous. Thoughts anyone?
