I'm 11 months out and still don't own a scale. I just weighed at the doctors office. You will be a lot less stressed not worrying about the numbers on the scale. Just follow your plan, concentrate on healing and establishing new habits and measuring your success with NSVs and clothing size.

@@cuchas hmmmmm i was 6 months 3 years ago at the time i think i had lost about 70 lbs it took me almost 6 more months to loose my final 35 lbs (reaching goal) if your stats are different (they probably will be) nothing to worry about we all loose lbs in various time periods never, ever compare your weight loss to me or anyone else people have been shot for less don't worry about the time period it takes to loose the weight some people think they will go to bed one night weighing 235 lbs and wake up at GOAL doesn't work that way 11 months or one year, or whatever to reach goal whats the big deal?? you will be looking/feeling better month to month smaller clothes sizes many more wonderful things will happen (NSV's) not sure if you are pre or post op either way good luck kathy

someone didnt work out today ... someone ate a ton today ... :scared: someone had dessert with dinner (not a bite, a whole piece) EEEEEEEEEEKKKK ... yup ... someone=me.. i was just way too tired to get up early to go work out this morning. i planned on leaving work early and going after work ... not so much ... i was asked to prepare a report that is going directly to our CEO's office (i work for a mAAjor airline...) double eeeek!!! so i was at work until about 630 finishing it up. so much for working out. sigh ... so i have a kick boxing class tomorrow morning. it is with the best teacher and should be fun. i may work out after that as well. we'll see what my weight is ... if it is above 339 7/8 i will spend a lot of time there this weekend. i did have a sorta NSV ... i have to dress up for work Monday (big meeting) and i pulled my skirt & jacket out of the closet - the one i bought last year and it never did quite fit and hasnt been worn - well it is big ... like really big. not sure if i will be able to pull it off Monday. i hope so cause i am tired of buying new outfits and them not fitting soon after ... :scared: oh damn, i am SO full from dinner. i cant wait to get my fill. i need it so bad. for dinner i had chicken fajitas ... all of the chicken, some queso, 2 tortillas and lots of onions ... oh and refried beans ... way too much ... dont forget the dessert!! i will do better tomorrow.

I am beyond ecstatic. I am now below 300 pounds! I started at 540 pounds on October 29, 2015 when I started this whole journey. I had surgery on May 29, 2016 at 480 pounds and Now, 10 1/2 months later I weigh 297.8! I have not had a 2 in the front of my weight in FOREVER. I only have 98 pounds to go until I hit my goal! (Which may change, I'm more going for a clothing size goal now more than a number goal ) I used to have to be on oxygen all the time because I was so fat I could not breathe properly. Now I can walk for over an hour with no break and not be out of breath! I am so extremely happy with my progress! I used to HATE getting my picture taken, it was the WORST. Now I love getting in front of the camera, I ASK for pictures to be taken! This is the craziest thing for me. I feel pretty for the first time in a very very long time. I started out at a size 6x (36-38) and now wear a an 18/20 on top and 22 on bottom. I even wear leggings now! I have a large hanging skin on my stomach which I am having removed on June 5th! I will need a revision surgery when I get to goal but I am very excited for the surgery and the relief it will give me. Here are some before and after pics for you guys!

I weighed myself this morning and the scale read 158.5, finally out of the 160's!!! My lowest weight of my teenage/adult life was 158, which I weighed in my sophomore year of high school. Although I set a goal of a "normal" bmi, I don't think I completely believed that it could happen. Now I definitely feel it WILL happen. Only 10.5 lbs. left to go. My second victory is an NSV. I've really been feeling poorly over the last week. I thought it might be my gallbladder, then I was thinking an ovarian cyst, but I'm not a doctor and will be going in and hopefully it gets figured it out soon. Anyway, tonight I went to tap class and my husband decided to clean the master bathtub so I could take a relaxing bath when I got home. We have a small jacuzzi tub in there and I hadn't taken a bath since before surgery. I fit with so much room left on both sides. I didn't let it fill as far up as normal, because I was impatient, but the water still covered my body completely. I called my husband in so he could see how well I fit:thumbup: A nice way to start the week, but I still wish it were Friday.

hey gang, Just thought I'd post that I've actually bought a few pieces of clothing in the regular section for the first time in years! They're a tad snug, but wearable in public, so I'm in em! I actually bought a bathing suit last night for my new gym membership. They didn't have any 18's so I thought what the heck - give it a try. Lo and behold, it fit! It's TIGHT, but it fits and it's kinda nice to have that belly sucked in a bit. I celebrated by a nice long spa soak after my workout last night. I don't think I'll be done shopping at Lame Giant just yet, but it won't be long!! It will feel like a real victory when I hit a size 14 (will be the first time in about 11 years). Meanwhile, I'm down from a 24 to a 16/18 on the bottom and a 14/16 on top. :whoo:

Congrats! I'm not in school anymore, but I remember those seats and I remember the shifting required to let the neighbor pull up his desk. Awesome NSV!

Over the weekend I was in a store and decided to try on a regular size 14, rather than a 14W - it fit! Woo Hoo! I started at a size 20W. Also... This morning at work, a female security guard ( located in the lobby of my office building) called me over and said " I've been watching you, you are really doing great - how much have you lost?" Woo hoo - so very few people say ANYTHING to me that sometimes I want to yell out - hey, look at me, can you see that something is different about me? I of course don't do it, but it does drive me crazy! Anyway, just wanted to share my NSV - - love to hear about yours!

2 NSV one over the weekend and one today!
PATCHELTON replied to WorkingMom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations. It really feels good when something like that happens. My favorite NSV was when I went to the outlet store where I buy scrubs for work (I work in a doctor's office). At the beginning of my journey I wore 2X. I had gotten down to large and they were looking kind of baggy, so I went back to buy some mediums. I picked out some tops and pants, took them home, and when I tried the pants on they still looked baggy. I thought I can't possibly be a small. I went back to the store, only this time I tried them on in the store to make sure before I exchanged them. Well, the small fit, so I returned the pants (the medium tops looked ok--sometimes I am a small but mostly medium) and got all small size. I honestly can't remember the last time I took a small anything. It felt so good! I also shop at the local thrift store, and today wore a layered look top I had gotten there. Group support is tonight and I wanted to wear something other than scrubs. When it was admired at work I told them where I got it. I probably spent about $3.00 for it. Thrift stores are a great place to look for clothes, especially while you are losing and your size is changing. You can save a bundle. I have gotten past the idea that someone I don't know wore them before me. I even found a pair of Ann Taylor Loft jeans there. It was priced $6.98 but they were having a 50% off sale so I got them for about $3.50. I love them. They are kind of a brick red color, size 12 (down from 22W). I take 10-12 in misses sizes now. Pinch me! Good luck on your journey. You can do it. It is never too late, but never is too late. -
Hi Guys, I have committed to so many things in life and most often don't finish them. Since having the lapband, I have really started to live. I have been jogging since January--very slowly. I signed up for the race a few months ago and found excuse after excuse of why I shouldn't do it. My feet hurt, its too hot, I am too old, I am not at goal etc. I decided to Just Do the Best that I Could. It took over 3 1/2 hrs. I ran most of the first 8-9 miles and walk/ran the rest. But, I finished. I will post pictures soon. I want to post a few before and after wls pictures too. I am down 56-58 lbs. So, I am around 165. My goal is 150. I keep fluctuating. Stay encouraged all. Brigette

Thank you! It's hard to see much change day to day but that NSV was huge yesterday! I found myself more engaged and friendly in class because I wasn't worrying if everyone was staring at the fat girl in class [emoji16] so excited to continue to watch my body change Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I had to get a replacement drivers license, because I lost mine. I was going to go in, show my proof of residence and pay my $7.00. The lady was staring at the screen and looking at me sideways, she just kept shaking her head and told me that she couldn't give me a replacement, because I was not the same person on the screen. Needless to say, after new paper work, more lines and $22.00 later...I am the proud owner of a new license with the "new" picture on the front!
