  1. Well I had been at a plateau for a few months. So I totally revised my eating choices and hit the gym every other day for about 2 1/2hrs give or take a few mins I have a routine that I do 1hr cardio then weights, abs, arms and inner outer thighs, and back. At 1st I was just loosing inches, now Im loosing weight too.

  2. Hello I was looking on here and saw you some stuff done. I had Lapband almost 2 years ago. Aug 5th 2008. I had to drop 85lbs and I did. But my stomach hangs and of course the boobs and my inner thighs. My belly button is what bugs me more it is closed under my skin and gets a raash...did you have any of this? I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and then I guess plastic surgeon. Did this cost allot or does ins pay for something that ends up being medical? I am going insane Thank you

  3. Hi Amanda, How you doing? Glad you will have the surgery soon. There is nothing to worry about, you can read all my posts as they explain how things went for me. Sat there were 4 more ladies up there, remarkable. If you keep a positive mind, follow the guidance on eating, you will do fine and loose the pounds. It's working for me. If you wish to email me at my hotmail account you can: giby97@hotmail.com

Ask questions any time ok. This will be a great year.

  4. Brie: Thank you for the comment. I so want to loose about 60 more pounds and get rid of my tummy that is my biggest part. You are so pretty too. I know that i have lost but you really can't tell until you look at pictures that is where you see it. Hope you are feeling better and the girls. Take care. Judy

  5. Wow I didn't even know that you are from Colorado. I have not been banded yet. I am waiting to hear from my insurance. I am nervous that they will not cover it. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. They will cover it if I do the 6 months of medically supervised weight loss program. I didn't loose any weight. So it has been a long 6 months. I am ready to get this done. I need to loose about 100 lbs.

How did you pay for your surgery? Did you have insurance to cover it?

  6. I read your story and it is truly amazing.

Can you give me some pointers...as I am having sugury on July and super nervous. Because you are so young did your skin go back a bit?

  7. Hi I am a newby here. I am from the lakeshore area also and have been struggling with my weight all my life. I have just set up an appt. with Dr.K. I see him later this month. I am really afraid for my life if I do not loose this weight. I've in the past lost 70lbs on weight watchers and have gained all back and then alot more. My weight is very high and my health is very poor. I need all the inspiration I can get. I know my insurance (blue cross) will not cover my surgery but I am going to fight it tooth and nail to get them to cover. Any suggestions?

  8. Hey Cherri! I was suppose to loose 10lbs before surgery but I have had a really hard time doing that so I have decided to put myself on a liquid diet.....4 shakes a day....lots of water and some sugar free jello if I really can't handle it anymore lol. What is the 5k program....I would love to do that! here is my email bprimeau@verizon.net his me up if you need some encouragement throughout the next ew days!

  9. Hi Jane,

How are you doing? Not heared from you since the op, how is your weight loss coming on?

How has your recovery been after having the stitches out?

    What are you eating now?

I'm asking you so many questions I hope your ok.

I'm really happy with the weight loss it has slowed down now I don't know why as I'm doing exercise as well cause I want to tone up as well I don't want to have flabby skin.

But I'm happy as other people have started to notice. Keep in touch.

    Take care.

  10. You know I don't have to do any particular pre op diet. THey just wanted me to loose 10lbs prior to surgery...ive only lost about 3-4...I am seeing my surgeon this Tuesday and I feel he may put me on a liquid diet. I am doing a full liquid diet today, tomorrow and the next day before I see him to hopefully drop a coupld more lbs. Good luck with your pre op! Have you started a blog? I did its Me & My Band - not the musical kind and its so much fun to do you should try doing one!

  11. Hey again Cherri! I can't believe it, 3 weeks from tomorrow! I am going to loose my mind I think lol. I am nervous bc I have not lost the 10lbs they wanted me to pre-op......I was trying liquids and couldn't make it all day, I have ended up eating dinner.....I am going to have to go to the gym and work it off cuz it's just not happening! What isyour low card diet consist of do you know??

  12. Thank you! I still have a lot of weight/fat to lose, but so far I don't have any issues with loose extra skin.

  13. Hi Elisabeth

You got one hell of an insperational story going there, soo what better person to ask a question.

I was wondering (as your a nurse right?), knowing what you know now, would you of got a sleeve straight up? Almost sounds like a band is a stepping stone to the **pinyata** lol. I was totally into the idea of a band until last night when i went to a Dr info session where he talked about the pros and cons of both band and sleeve. The more I seem to dive into all this info, the more it seems that sleeve 'is' the way to go and the best choice over a band! I havent managed to stumble over any long term nutritional stats yet and wonder how you are travelling? also (sorry to keep asking) what happens when you loose all your weight, and your not looking to loose any more. you cant really eat anymore to actually maintain. (excercise issue maybe)

Is the sleeve still holding its own? have you noticed any difference over the time you have had this done?

    many thanks

  14. LOL you found my page...I was thinking the same about photos but still feel a bit shy about it yet, maybe a little later lol...

I always wondered about wether I would loose the weight with just my hb having it done as I was the hesitant one. My hb was getting it one way or another I think. I had a friend who had the lap band procedure about 8 or so years ago, and she went thru hell in the first few mths. It really put me off. But her surgery was with the origainal of all lap bands and there was a few issues with that one.I suppose they have really fine tuned them now and even again in another ten years they will have changed them again...Technology it's a fantastic thing sometimes.

  15. Thank you for your message! Sorry so late getting back to you but I haven't been on here in a while but I'm trying to get my act back together lol. I haven't had any issues with my hair, it is actually healthier now than it was this time last year! But you still have to make sure to get in your protein for overall health of your skin, nails, and hair and diet. Thank you very much for the compliments...my glowing face is mostly from the flash (lol) and otherwise from my mom/grandma! My only problem areas that I hate to look at are my stomach of course, but it's not loose skin, and the back of my arms. But I'm working on it so I'm sure they'll go down with time, most likely be the last areas that get fit! Good luck to you on your journey and sisterly love back at ya!

  16. Hey Erin! Getting banded was the best decision I have ever made and do not regret the downturns of it. Post Op was easy... almost a little depressing just because I didn't loose too much weight.

  17. Hi! my name is trina and girl, u look good! how much weight did u loose if u don't mind me asking?

  18. I guess 12lbs isn't that bad compaired to what some people have to loose. Just put your mind to it and try not to cheat which is like the hardest thing, well it was for me anyway.

  19. I had surgery on June 11th 2008 so just celbrated my year anniversary! I have lost 95 pounds and I am at a stand still lately!! I want to loose another 15 but it is gotten really hard! How are you doing??

  20. I am loosing my mind too! I have been in Missouri the past 5 days, just got in last night and now I'm like whoa I have 4 days this is insane! lol

  21. I usually am starving when I eat my meals, so...Today at lunch I started out with what I thought was slowly eating, but it wasn't and I had pain, but eventually after a few bites got the hang of it - slowly and chewing thoroughly. I guess I just need patience! ! I am scheduled for another fill on 5/14 so maybe I'll get on track and be able to get a 2nd fill then. I really love my band and the weight I am loosing. I think of it as my "permanent monitor" for eating less and losing weight. I also have noticed that in the mornings I can not eat first thing like I used to so I drink 1/2 cup of coffee while getting dressed, then more on my drive to work. I've been eating Cheerios for breakfast and they seem to be agreeing with me, so far. I guess only time will tell. I'll keep you posted on my progress and status! Again, thanks so much for your help! I feel better about it after talking with you! Thanks, Laura

  22. during my weight loss period (7 1/2 months) i started on the treadmill 15 min a day (i'm talking walking at 2.0) and then ended up walking around 45 min at 3.5. And of course the last few months i started doing sit ups. got the surgery in jan and by aug i had a six pack... i had minimal loose skin but after all that hard work even having a little bit bothered me.. so in oct i had a body lift along with a tummy tuck... since the tummy tuck i lost my six pack but plan on getting it back hopefully soon.

  23. What r u up to these days? Girl i'm down 83 # but i still cant see a difference. 17 # away from my goal. hopefully i can loose it by june 5, what do think?
