I've just celebrated my 2nd "Rebirthday." I weighed in at 271 and a half and I'm down to 174 and a half. To average a loss of 2lbs a week is on the "high" end, so you're doing fine...especially since the first month Banders may not lose any weight and many experience a small gain. You're doing fine. My only advice is to get ready to weather to storm when that Band Honeymoon is over...

Thank you. I have not had the lap-band yet. I am waiting to see if Lovelace west side, Albuquerque NM. I have gone thought everything,for 6Mo. I stop drink cole.I eat slow.I have done everthing. So ian think of going to El Paso TX.I hve talk with them,so hope to do it soon.I start at 249lb and now am down to 213,but 2 week ago I gain 7lb.Hope to go down by next week.It is hard to keep it off.

Do you have the Zumba workout DVD at home. As for you weight lose that is really good. I have started tracking what I eat and going to Zumba 3 times and circuit training once a week

I am so sorry to hear that you had been going through all of these changes. I pray things will only continue to get better with you. Maybe if you try to eat more fiber that will also help with some of the constipation. I chew maybe three weight management fiber tables daily. It's an OTC and it really helps my body along with lots of water to be regular. I pray you reach your goal.

Thank you so much for your help. It's funny but as overweight as I am I guess people don't realize it as much and think that I am not that overweight and can just do it myself. It is so hard and such a daily struggle. I have fought with food (too much and too little) since I have been 9 years old. I know this is not a cure..I am a social worker so I am fully aware of why I eat and what I have to do to lose weight..I just can never seem to follow through...

crazzy to say i never really work out my legs because most of my weight i carry it on my upper body. i'm what they call an up side down pear shape. So as a result my legs seem to very stong, can't say much about top but i'mm working on it.
my start weight was 220 now 169 total 60 lb loss.

I'm doing about the same as everyone else working out and eatting less. the biggest thing is getting to a good restriction, for me that is what went right. once i got good restriction the weight just fell off.

Hi Vikki. Congrats on your weight loss. You are a real inspiration. I have been banded for almost 10 months and have only lost 40 lbs. It gets to be very discouraging, but seeing your weight loss is very motivating to me. Keep up the good work!

I saw your response on the before and after thread. Honestly, I just follow the band rules except I work out more than 30 minutes a day. I work out 5-7 hours a week, which helps a lot. I keep my calories around 1500 a day and get my water in. Don't get discouraged! Are you are the right restriction level? You've still lost an incredible amount of weight and you should be proud! Let me know if you ever need to talk or if you're getting discouraged. Best of luck to you!

. Unfortunately your weight will slow down once you start back eating solid foods. I was encouraged to get in at least 130g of protein daily to help build muscle to replace the fat. Good luck and if I can assist you in any way please let me know.

I had my pre-op Dr. appt. and labs today! My LAP-BAND?? date is Oct. 7, 2010! I cant wait! :w00t:I start my pre-op diet tomorrow! I will post my weight after those 2 weeks are complete!:thumbup:

Thanks for the photo comment! I am about 5'6" (the people with me in that pic are much shorter lol) and my starting weight was 280/size 22. My doctor had told me that 170 was a good target weight but now I'm at 160-165 (depending on what I eat that week) and I still need to tighten up some fatty areas. But I am excited and ecstatic with my weight loss and sometimes cannot believe my eyes either. Good luck with your journey!!

Hey, Im having my band in DEC and I am around the weight you were, I was looking at your photos, and I was wondering if you can offer some helpful advice on exercise that helped you the most. I plan on making it a daily thing and I was wondering what did the best for you? I would greatly appreciate it, i can't wait till im in that little black dress!

How are you doing Marw? Things have been very well with me. I am trying to workout as much as possible and eat most of the right foods. I really have good restriction since my last fill a week ago. I have another appointment at the end of the month. I really don't know if I should get another fill right now. My doctor is very aggressive with giving his patients fills. I really do appreciate his attitude to giving his patients fills. Thanks again for checking up on me. How is your weight lost going. I am really losing more inches than anything at this point. Again thanks for checking in.

Hi Thanks for thinking of me. It really made my day when I got the note from you. I have lost a ton of weight with this tool. I am now at what I call my lowest. I am not sure my body will want to lose any more unless I work harder for it. I am sort of liking where I am and it has taken a good long time getting here. I have not gained either. I can eat almost anything I want. I just need to eat less of everything. I have had some ice cream but it does not make me feel very good it might be the high fat content. Any way I eat mostly real food not too much and mostly plants with protein first and it works for me. I hope all is well with you. I am now 16 months into the journey and feel really good. I am at 147 on most days and go up to 150 and down so I am up and down but never more than a few pounds. Maybe this is my set point. I will be happy with this for the rest of my life. I love my LB and new way of life. Hope all is well with you? Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

Hope life is going well...I have been slacking quite a bit and 'gotten away with it' because I dont gain...but guess what I dont lose either! Probably going to get a tiny fill...

I got on the scale today...I don't like what I see, LOL. Didn't gain but didn't lose either. I know it'll take time before the weight starts to shed but I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. Maybe I'm still swollen? I hope so...let's see what the scale says on Thursday, one week post-op.

Thanks so much for the prayers. I am doing well. I was in the OR at 8am and up to my room by 11am. It was so wonderful to wake up in PA and realize I was being cared for by a nurse who has always inspired me and taught me so much in ACLS the last 25 years. What a blessing!
I am a bit sore today and was surprised the port site incision is at least 2". 5 incisions total put together with Dermabond. No stitches no dreaded steri-strips. I was doing ice chips and h20 throughout the day and last night had broth, jello and juice. Same today and tolerating well. I gained 8lbs overnight from fluid retention and am bloated, however, bowels are audible ha!
I will be praying for you as well. What time is your surgery? I will be there for you in prayer.

Kathy, I'm so glad you are so busy because life is so good - how great is that? I am doing well. Had first fill on Friday (2cc) and looking forward to a new jump start on my weight loss .. . I never got off plan or anything, just got stalled on the weight loss. I am loving this tool - IT WORKS! Rose

Congrats on getting your band!!!!! Remember to stay motivated! I lost mine for a couple of months but I am back at it. I lost a total of 10 pounds in September and I am so happy!!!! No secret just a lot of sweat! LOL! I spend a total of an hour in the gym M-F. 30 on the elliptical and 30 on the bike. Sometimes I will stay a little longer and get on the treadmill for 10 min and lift some weights. I wish I could do the treadmill for longer but I have foot problems (from the weight)! I am hoping once I get under 300 it will get better. 388 was a lot of pressue on my poor feet! Now at 322 I can tell the difference but they still hurt. I have started to bake my fish also instead of fying it. Good luck!

How is you weight lose going? I was banded in May of this year and I have only lost 30lbs and had 3 fills so just hang in there everyone is different
