I've been overweight most of my life and when I got married weight just kept sneaking up on me. I got pregnant and had gained a lot, I had a 8lb 12oz baby girl. I was diagnosed with depression a couple months after I had her. I just started gaining more and more, I tried every kind of diet that was affordable I even went to a "training school" to look into lipo! I did Herbalife and I lost a good amount but then got bored and gained back. I was about to do Jenny Craig until my friend told me about the Lap-band. I looked more into it and told myself I wouldn't be able to afford it, I called and asked (an embarrassing question to me) if they accept the Medical Card, to my amazement they said YES! So I made my appointment right away, I did the whole check list. Everyone kept asking if I was scared, I kept saying no that I was more excited! A couple days before surgery is when I started to get nervous, I've NEVER had surgery, the closest to being in a hospital was when I had my daughter! I've never broke any bones or even had stiches! The day of my surgery was really hard for me, I told my husband that I think I had time to run and not look back. He told me that I didn't go through everything just to chicken out and for me to stop worrying everything would be fine. I kept looking at my phone's screen saver, which had my daughters picture on it, I started to cry, saying all the what ifs, I even told the nurse what if I'mstill awake during surgery like the movie 'AWAKE'! I finally calmed down and the next thing I knew I was in recovering! I am really excited about losing weight, not only for me but for my daughter. She doesn't know it hurts me but she comes up to me and says "mommy your tummy is big!" When she started to say that to me, that's when I knew it was time for a change! I'm happy with my choice by getting the Lap-Band!
