Good job!!! You're on the right track. Every little bit of extra activity helps our endeavors

  2. I haven't been around much! I started school Monday and let me tell you, this has been one of the longest weeks of my life. It feels like Monday was weeks ago. I have two 12-hour days and two that are at least 6 hours but will almost always be closer to 10 hours after factoring in studio time. Bring it on! This workload is huge and intimidating but I'm truly loving it. I do have a slight problem, though... I've been horrible about getting calories/water in. I'm going to have to figure out how to balance this new life... D:

Congratulations! You know you are going to have to be more on purpose with food or your metabolism will end up suffering in the long hall.

Please take care of yourself. You have worked too hard to let it go.

I noticed I put on 3lbs over the last month or so. I have not been as good as I usually am. We have gone to some events where I found myself eating things I usually don't and too much of it. The good news, I will just get back on track and take those few pounds off quickly. I LOVE MY POUCH too!

  4. One week out. Working from home is going well. I think I'll be able to handle the office 3 days next week. Finding myself just not hungry, having to set reminders on my phone for drinking and protein and walking around. Which is what I'd hoped for, but it makes it a struggle to get in enough.

five years out and I still don't get hungry. Once a "routine" for eating/drink gets established it will become easier for you. You're going "Maaavelous, Daaaling". really--great job!

  5. 3 weeks and 2 days today and im down 20 pounds and i feel like it! I can really see the difference and im soo glad i had the surgery. No regrets at all!

  6. I am almost 6 months post-op. I have had a very stressful 2 months with my husband being ill. He was hospitalized for three weeks in Cleveland, OH and then Cheyenne

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been ill. I can imagine how hard and distracting that can be from your diet. Don't beat yourself up about it just forgive yourself and move on because there is nothing we can do about the past, only the future.

Oh my, so sorry your going through this. To get some protien in they do have powder shakes, you can take a small 8oz carton of the milk on the shelf. They sell it usually in the Organic section. Put powder in shaker at home take milk with you in purse or another bag you might take a book in to read? Mix the 2 when hungry and drink. I would also take the ready to drink drinks. Put in fridge at night does stay a bit cold while your out. Prayers to you and your husband.

  21. I purchased another pair of new jeans today! I have lost 30lbs in the past 6 weeks and the last pair are all baggy in the legs, gaped at the waist and baggy in the butt.

    1. jane13

      jane13

I just wore leggings today because of the "baggy butt" thing. I feel like a kid with a load in a dirty diaper.

    2. Djmohr

      Djmohr

Yes, unfortunately that baggy butt thing gets worse the more weight you lose. I purchased a lot of yoga pants for that very reason.

luckily now that I am smaller I can pick jeans for for $20-30. Which is glorious.

  22. I am post-op 11 mos and I have slowed down way too much. I no longer have drive or energy to do what I know to do. Need some encouragement...I am not hitting my weight goal at my year mark in a few weeks. How can I get it going again...thoughts?

    1. Cervidae

      Cervidae

I think if I were in the situation you are in right now, I would go back and look at my before and during pictures. I'm betting seeing the HUGE change would give me enough of a kick in the pants to get going again. Or perhaps go back to basics for a few days, and sort of reset your stomach and metabolism. There is also something called the five day pouch test that may help you. Try not to get too discouraged. You've come a looong way and worked hard to be here, and you'll be able to keep going because you already know you have the strength. Take care and be kind to yourself. :)

Try reviewing a couple of weeks of your food diaries. You may find that you've been more liberal than you'd been previously. Also do yourself the favor of recalling that few goals have an end date. It's the doing that achieves the goal, but there's no calendar attached. Certainly not when it comes to weight loss. You're still losing, so relax. You're doing/getting what you set out to do nearly a year ago. You're way ahead of the game.

  23. How very cool to read three women's updates, almost in a row, about downhill-rolling clothing sizes.

  24. Hi everyone. Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was walking because I felt so good on Thursday and Friday. However I think I have been doing too much walking and sewing. Last night as I was working on sewing a curtain for my patio which I hope to me able to get out onto in the next coming weeks my back across the shoulder really started to hurt. Today the lower back shoulder pain has moved to the side breast underarm pit area. Is it possible for that pain to move? It makes me wonderful if the lower back shoulder pain I had was gas pain due to the laparoscopic surgery. If it is when does this gas pain truly leave the body? This new location pain hurts as much as the lower shoulder back pain did. Also how is it possible to gain weight when all I have had is protein soups and shakes? Yesterday when I got on the scale I was up 4 pounds. It makes no sense. Does liquid Tylenol with codeine cause weight gain even when you don't eat anything? Sorry for the venting but today is not a good day. I am frustrating that I may be backsliding not progressing.

Thanks but a super hero I don't think so. During the 3 procedure operation I had my gallbladder taken out. This is not incision pain. It is in the right side lower back shoulder pain that moved today to the breast armpit area. I saw my PCP on Thursday when I had the pain for 6 days all ready. He thought when the nurses and Pt lifted me off the toilet they broke a rib. But that was not the case. He gave me liquid Tylenol with codeine and it was helping but when the pain switched to the breast armpit area the meds were not helping any more. The walking I was doing was with the walker but today I couldn't even get out the door. All I did was relax in my recliner, surf the net and watch TV. It is only 10 days post op so I was surprised to see a stall all ready

Don't psych yourself out ssflbelle, you are doing fine and everything is working fine. Just chill out and heal a little bit. Slow but sure is the tortoise. Take the small victories and I agree you should stay off the scale for a while. Gas pains can and do move from one area to another sometimes. I had similar problems years ago when I had an abdominal surgery. The gas working out was the worst part.

Don't be down on yourself !

Hi I am not sure about the gas pains - I am one week out of surgery and have been trying to walk a bit when I feel up to it probably not as hard as you walk tho. I was also having a meltdown over my weight gain from surgery so good news day 8 from surgery and finally lost 2 lbs .... geez seems slow but so happy to finally be lower than my weight before the surgery!!! Hope your gas pain subsides soon!
