Went to store, used a mortozied cart (because of my ACL knee surgery TWO weeks ago). My teenager was Mortified. Saying that this was like my "600 lb life) and that I needed to lose weight (duh, WLS planned for Nov). I laughed it off, but also realized that if I don't have surgery/lose weight, I am headed for motorized cart & how hard it would be.

@WLSResources/ClothingExch LOL! You made me laugh out loud here in my quiet apartment. Thanks for that!
@Anna Nim I had the same surgery 2 months ago! Well that, plus a meniscus repair and a meniscus trim. But a few months ago in San Diego, we went to the zoo, and my knee was so messed up that my boyfriend and aunt convinced me to get a scooter so I could see the whole zoo. I was pretty mortified too, especially when strangers stopped in their tracks to stare/glare at me or even confront me and tell me "I should be walking!" I weighed about 250 at the time, so I was definitely overweight but in no way "600 pound life" large. People are going to be ridiculous/ignorant/judgmental no matter what, so do what you need to so you can recover and ignore the a-holes! Teenagers are, as a whole, incapable of ignoring them, hence the mortification.
Hope your knee heals well and quickly!

You guys are cracking me up! Mow The Kid down indeed!!
I would SO smack a person who actually SAID I should be walking! Those are the same fools that tell women to breastfeed in the restroom. Luckily, at 5 10 and resting bitch face, I never had to do that
I just need to do PT..like right now! I need the strength to stop wearing the brace, but since it is hard to move around, it is a pain.
@Cervidae I also had mensicus repair and trim. They shaved all the fuzzy off my bones. Ick City!
Thanks ya'll!

I called the insurance company and they still haven't assigned a nurse to my case for surgery approval after more than 2 weeks. They suggested the doctor's office call. Soooo, I called the doctor's office! They are going to call on Monday to request my case is expedited. Still in limbo - but there is potential action on the horizon!

So if you did "really good" on your "diet" this week, don't treat/reward yourself with food! You deserve better than that!
-
I cheated on my two week pre-op liquid diet. I had pizza and chicken wings and I have like six days till my surgery date.

Filed my divorce papers a week ago. It's getting real

It's always nice hitting a home run with your SO. She has had such a rough week, found the right restaurant to relax and reconnect. The whole night was perfect. She left looking relaxed and refreshed.
-
Staying upbeat today, as I have last weigh-in for the supervised diet, and will be on vacay all next week.

4 Weeks Pre-op Diet is killing me slowly. Only a couple of more days to go

So far today I have 11,350 steps!!! yay me! Monday I'll be 6 weeks so it's time for me to get serious. This evening I went and picked up my granddaughters and we all went for a nice long walk.....same plan for tomorrow!

6 weeks out and started exercising in earnest and now the dreaded stall. Out of frustration pre-surgery, I would be three quarters of the way through a bag of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups! So thankful that kind of distructive eating is no longer a part of my life!

Took a nice break; back to read some info; I have my first consult/appt next week on the 19th. FInally coming around. On the downside, my insurance company is requiring me to do all the weight management part again, because there wasn't a CONSECUTIVE documented doctor visits. Ugh. I went from March 2016 to Dec 2016; and only Sept was documented in between. But I'm trying to stay positive. It shall pass.

I am down a buck and a quarter as of this morning! That number is not round, but then again, neither am I - any more! 125 has a nice feel to it for some reason. Haha, tomorrow is my three month anniversary since surgery.

Week six has been a struggle. Mental hunger. I'm finding my sleeve to not preventing me from eating just about anything. Also I could be grazing all day if I wanted to. I now measure my food, but it doesnt help. but it's scary to think even after this procedure,If I could, I would.
-
Did you think it would stop you from choosing what and when to eat? That's not how it works, unfortunately.
It's hard, but you can do it. Make sure what you're eating is mostly protien, as that keeps you fuller longer. Also, I ate evert 2 hours on a schedule for well over a year. That helps, and you're not really grazing doing that, just eating small meals through out the day. Now I eat every 3 hours. I'm at goal and have been for over a year, so it's worked for me.

Thanks @Babbs! I needed to hear this. I just thought I would come out having a real aversion to food. But in a way I'm thankful and blessed not have anything extreme of the sort. It's all about self-control. I've realized that now. I am having smaller meals, with snacks scheduling water in between to meet my goals. It's all about protein. AND some fiber. I've learned from an episode with constipation to not solely rely on just protein.

Man, oh man... I've lost about 5 lbs in the last 5 weeks. I'm only 7 out from surgery. I'm considering it a stall... and I'm super frustrated!
-
Nope, not a stall. You are losing. If you don't lose or gain for more than a week you are stalling. You already have a lower BMI totally normal for it to slow down...when I was banded at 180ish it took me 3 months to get to 170 and then another 6 get to 160. You just need to be patient. You are losing. At whatever rate it is better than gaining or stalling.

Sick of Right Side Pain. Nothing dramatic, just there. Have two week on Friday.
-
A minor stall broke today. My pants are trying to fall off and multiple people who aren't aware of my surgery and have been seeing me on a regular basis made comments about me losing weight.
-
Day 4 after surgery: getting all my liquids in, no nausea, no vomiting. Taking only 4 pills a day (three of which are temporary), down from 11 in the morning and 5 at night. No insulin for 5 days, perfect blood sugars before and after every meal.

Diet Fail: Did good on day two of my carb diet..until I fell asleep. I woke up about a hour later, thristy and confused. Drank glass of lemonade juice and ate a fajita taco..then "woke" up and thought. Crap!! I was SO out of it, then I ate some other crap I should not have (chocolate milk! and corn chips). Jesus..Get it together. Today is day three of my attempt. I WILL drink more water today, as that was likely was triggered it. I had fallen asleep with a nice cup of tea by my hand..had.

@Fredbear I have a teenager, although I am thinking that he can do plain/crystal light water for awhile. The chips came with the Angus steak tacos from across the street, we don't have chip/cookie bags in the house. I will say, yesterday, was MUCH better. I went into work. I DID eat some more of those stupid chips in the morning, so carb count was off, but, nothing else bad for the whole day! That is important, as the evenings are when I fail, so I am now 24 hours without excessive carbs. 10 days left of pre-surgery. Hope it is enough to count. Yesterday I had jerky, hamburger (no bun, no catsup)..then later some Fajita meat and pecans, Sugar free jello and tea...I made a pot of boiled eggs and will do some other prep today. I am also cutting my caffeine, which is HORRIBLE. Kill me slowly or kill me cold turkey-not sure which is worse

I am about 8 weeks post op and just hit a milestone! I am now officially down 50 pounds! I struggled when I was able to go back to actual food, not to fall back into old habits, but after a 2 week stall, I am back on track and more determined than ever.
-
Three weeks after surgery and my first day of work...I'm exhausted!!! But, getting back to a routine will help me structure my drinking, exercise, and eating. Happy to be at this point.

All pre-op labs done! One appointment with the surgeon to go, and the pre-op class. 2 weeks!
