  4. Hey! How are you doing post-surgery? I hope all is well :)

  5. Going through this right now too going from liquids to mushy food. Its an every day occurrance and I am starting to get concerned. Glad to hear I am not alone.
  6. Hi everyone. Wondering if this is normal or should be cause for concern. I'm 10 days post op and started mushies yesterday. I went from not being able to go number 2 at all to having diarrhea today! I'm not eating anything greasy or harsh really. Nothing off my plan at all. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is it just my body getting adjusted to everything? Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks.
  7. I had a hard time wrapping my brain around this little sip thing too, and I am only about 6 days post-op but I am drinking out of 1oz medicine cups, finishing them in about 10 minutes..and that has helped me be more mindful of taking little sips. And today while in the car, I didn't have access to my medicine cups and only had my bottle of water and I found myself automatically taking small sips. It's all abotu retraining ourselves.. Maybe that will help for you?

  9. I had my surgery on the 10th and I didn't have one until today when I took a sopository (eeek!) but it worked and made me feel better. It was very small though.

3 days post op SUPER HUNRGY

I had surgery last Tuesday and I am on liquids and I AM FAMISHED!! My doctor allows protein shakes, and they help alittle bit as well as creamy soups.. so if your doctor allows any of that, it could give you some relief. I think this is just the most difficult week so far. I am starved so you're not a lone at all.
  11. Thank you both for your advice! I hope this gets easier soon.
  12. Hi friends! So I had my surgery on Tuesday (Yay!) and I haven't had many major issues and I'm probably just paranoid but I just want to make sure what is happening is normal. I'm currently on liquids until this Thursday. The first few days I was not feeling hungry at all but the last three days I constantly am hungry! I "eat" then literally minutes later I start feeling hunger pains. I get a full feeling but then I'm hungry very soon. Is it just because the liquids are filtering thru my band quickly? It's really so aggravating! My second question is about burping! In the beginning I didn't burp much at all. Now after I eat, I burp once usually. And it's normally right around the time I feel the full feeling. I burp once. Is it normal to be burping? My last question. I am normally a side and stomach sleeper. Ive been sleeping on my back since surgery but able to now start laying on my side and stomach with minimal discomfort so I've been trying to lay that way because it's much more comfortable for me. Is it damaging at all to the band to be sleeping on my side or stomach at this point? Any help is very appreciated!! Thank you I'm probably being paranoid but please any help would be appreciated!

    Two Days post op

I got my surgery on the 10th. The only thing that is going down smoothly with no issue is water and juice. When I drink protein shakes or take my meds it takes a really long time to get thru it. I usually have to get up half way thru swallowing them and walk to make myself burp so I can keep going. It should get better for you as well. It's probably still very swollen around the band, making it difficult for things that are a little bit thicker to pass through. Make sure you're chewing your vitamins really well. That seems to be easing them down for me.
  14. Hey everyone. I am posting from my hospital bed. Surgery was yesterday. Right after surgery I was unable to pass urine so I had a foley catheter put in for the night and taken out this morning. Right after they took it out I was able to pee. Since then theyve discontinued my IV fluids and have been doing bladderscans and I have no urine in my bladder! I've been drinking an ounce of liquid(Water and ice chips) very 15 mins but nothing! I can't be discharged until I am able to go. Did anyone else have this problem post surgery ? I am assuming it's because my liquid intake has been cut pretty significantly and my body is probably hanging on to every last bit of it. The medical staff doesn't seemed to be too concerned but I am. Aside from this issue everything else has been smooth sailing i appreciate any feed back or advice anyone may have. Thanks in advance!
