  1. Ditto with everyone else. I am barely starting this process and I am very self conscious, but realize that you are beautiful and that is all that matters. I think it awsome that your husband wants you to ride and you should do it because this will show yourself what a strong beautiful women you are. You are not ashamed because you have made the choice to change and it does not come easy but enjoy the todays because we will not have them again. Hope you do it, it would be a great experience and you r doing it for a good cause. Hugs to you....
  2. Thank you all for your replies, I barely got around to reading these sorry. Well I did my sleep study and have my psych and all day class in November 9th so I am excited. My Md office keeps calling me to see if I am done with that stuff yet to get my surgery date. I am ready to do it and hope it all goes smoothly. I am commited and sure it will be a great tool for me....
  3. Hi everyone, I am Ali and have always been overweight. I decided to take a stand and do something about that weight because I can't even tie my shoe lace w/out getting out of breathe. I want to live a long life next to the company of my children. I lose weight but gain it back plus some very fast so I decided to do the lap band. I don't know why I waited so long to do it, since my ins covers 100 percent any procedure I want done....... I however am scared of the afterwards, will I be able to get used to the new me? How does everyone get through that part? I guess I can ask the PSYCH MD once I see him in NOV. I already consulted with my MD, I have the sleep study next week and the bariatric class and psych visit in NOV. I hope all that goes well. I am also worried of the after pain, I hear many go through, you see I have little baby and he sleeps with me and he will not fall asleep unless he is next to me then I move him to his crib. I have heard it is hard to sleep on your side after the procedure is this true? Anyway any advice??????
  4. So happy for you, hope your process moves along fast and you can go on to the next step. Best of luck....
  5. Hello everyone. So I decided to do the Lap Band, I went in today for my first appt to meet the doctor and see what I need to do. I am tired of being overweight and not being able to play with my two kids, it is so hard to breathe at times due to my weight and I made the choice to try to get help this way. I have to go see a Sleep Apnea specialist and go to an all day class and see a psychologist. Did everyone go through this? Does anyone recommend the lap band? I am so scared and nervous any advice would be greatly appreciated.
