  1. Good Afternoon! i am sort of a newbie on this site. i have visited the forums as i began this journey. I have been very informed and received a bunch of tips getting prepared for surgery. I was pleased to get the ok from my insurance on Tuesday. I am going to be banded on December 21, 2010. My family is really excited for me and is ready to support me in whatever way is needed. i have found several people in my church who have had the procedure and are wishing me great luck. I am a MS girl and we like to eat. however, i have gotten to a point in my life where i can not eat anymore. My health and my family mean more to me than that extra serving of good ole comfort food. I enjoy Scouting with my children and enjoy horseback riding with my husband. And I am wanting to get back to riding as soon as i get a bit of this weight off. Awesome Christmas present for me to myself this year. I pray everyone has a wonderful and blessed holiday season.
  2. Got my surgery date today! My band date is December 21, 2010. Really excited and stunned at the same time. What mixed emotions. Start my Preop diet on the 10th. Ready to go! December Bandsters unite!
  3. Well, all is going well. I have to wait on my insurance and if all goes well i could be banded on November 18, 2010. This is really exciting. my family is excited as well. i am not going to say i am not nervous but so looking forward to beginning this journey to a more healthier me. I just wanted to thank all the posts. it really does help those that are thinking about this procedure and are also getting ready. Please say prayers my insurance will be nice and approve this very quickly.
  4. I have not had to cross this hurtle yet but i do have a suggestion. When my son was given chewable medication from the doctor. (he was already taking pills but they said his weight made hime have to get chewables.) applesauce would not do. I got sugarfree chocolate syrup crushed the tablet and mixed it with the syrup. because my son is hyperactive we have a sugarfree household and it worked out well till all the pills were gone. Good option with a great taste. Good luck!:w00t:
  5. I am a newbie and have been very inspired and informed from this website. I too am getting ready to take on the journey with the Lap-Band. I have done all my intitial testing and meetings. I go next week to meet with the bariatric Dr to discuss pre-op information. All my information is being turned over to the insurance and i hope it will be a quick process. I just wanted to say thanks for all that post because it really prepares you for you post op days. I do know from what i read is to make sure you have liquid gas drops and walk as much as possible. I am really excited about this adventure into becoming a new me. Thanks again for all the great information.:w00t:
