  1. Had to shopping this weekend to buy a dress for a friends wedding. The last time I had to buy a dress I was crying, because I couldn't find anything in my size. Anyway, I found not only 1 dress but 3 dresses that fit and looked great and they were Size 12 I was 18's. (Since Oct). I also bought 2 medium shirts (from Charlotte Russe). I would have never tried these sizes because I still don't see what everybody else sees, and my weight has stayed pretty much the same for the last month, (my friend made me). I was so excited. It upped my motivation again.
  2. Went to the store last night to buy dog food. Picked up a 40 lb bag. Then I thought, wow I was carrying this much extra weight around. Makes you realize how much you you've lost. Made me motivated to dump even more. Can't wait to pick up 50..60..70...etc just to see what it feels like.
  3. Hi everybody, I was banded on 13 Oct 10. I'm really excited. I've lost 33 lb since pre-op (most of it post). I had my 3rd fill today (16 Dec 10), I'm up to 3.5cc, my dr. only puts approx .5cc per fill, I think this works great because I'm easing into the full restriction. I get 3 meals a day, plus 2 snacks if I need them. I just want to wish everybody out there GOOD LUCK! there is a long road ahead, but we can DO IT!
  4. I was banded on 13 Oct and I had my first fill yesterday. My dr follows small fills evrytwo to three weeks. I received 1/2 cc, I already had 2 cc in my band from surgery. I think if you need a little then you should go for it.
  5. Are you having the surgery on or off base. I had mine done on base and the process was pretty simple. Never even dealt with any insurance. Look on the Tricare website for qualifications. Let me know if you ahve any questions.
  6. Congrats my banding was Oct 13, wow your on mushies already. I have two weeks liquids. My follow up is also on the Oct 28. I have been on the scales and have lost close to 15 lbs. Glad to meet you.
  7. Are you Tricare Prime? I just had my band done at Eglin AFB. I didn't deal with insurance at all. Go to the tricare website and look up the requirements that should help you a little. If you have co-morbities it helps too. Hopr this helps.
  8. Been banded a week today. Was starting to get tired of of liquids already, but I went to the receipes that some people have put on this site, made one of them last night it was good I'm going to finish it up for lunch, Chicken Enchilada Soup. Tonight I'm going to make another type, hope it is just as tasty. Hopefully this will help till I'm on mushies. One week and 2 day to go.
  9. I was nervous to and it was pretty much all I thought about. Now that it is over. I'm looking forward to a healthier life. I really blessed with the support of my family and friends. My pain is just about gone I get a little sore at the end of the day, because I had to go back to work. But it not to bad. Tomorrow will be 1 week. I be here if you have questions.:cursing:
  10. I was wondering if anybody had good ideas of how to take the crushed meds, they taste nasty. :cursing: Today was the first time, I mixed it in my tea YUK. Dumped sweet and low into it but didn't help too much. :huh2:
  11. Congrats looks like we are going through this together.
  12. Well Folks I did it. I was banded on 13 Oct, it went really smooth. I was in overnight, just something my dr requires. I had hardly any pain. I told everybody it felt like I had done 200 sit-ups. I did take Loratab the first night to sleep, just in case, but really didn't need it. Was released from the hosp the next day. They won't give any thing stronger then Tylenol, because I was going back to work on Monday. It's ok thought the pain and gas wasn't bad. Have been walking the around block at least twice a day. I've lost 10lbs so far. I think I might have had a little jello stuck the first night home (does if feel like somrthing is stuck in your throat?) Other than that no real problems. I was extremely nervous when I was waiting to go in to surgery. To those who haven't been banded yet. Good luck. I'm back at work today still a little sore and uncomfortable, but happy.
  13. msangel - Oct 13 is also my band date. Good luck to you and keep in touch.
  14. My date is Oct 13. My doctor doesn't really require me to do a pre-op diet, he says to start reducing your food intake. I'm going to start my self on a pre-op diet to help me prepare for what comes after. :rolleyes2:
  15. I'm originally from York, but now live in Fl. I'm not banded yet, but my date is 13 Oct. I'd be glad to buddies if you want.
