  1. Teekkii!! My mom made me homemade stock and soup too! She was so good to me this week and made anything I wanted to eat. I'm down 20 lbs total and she's so proud of me.. Always complimenting me. I haven't had that in 10 years and it touched me that she cares so much about my health and happiness. You have a good family (sounds like granny is awesome!)
  2. I'm so sorry to hear that! Wishing you won't have to do that.. Good luck with everything and please keep us updated.
  3. Are instant mashed potatoes even good for you? I rather have the real thing and not put the bad stuff (butter and such) in it. I can do thinned out real potatoes because it's not so bad. Thanks!!! As for other foods, I'm living on soups and Jello right now. I need to get used to having Protein shakes. I know many people are starting to love their daily Protein Shakes and I would really like that for myself too. It just the getting used to part right now. We can do this!! I'm so thankful for LBT.. it's a lifesaver
  4. OMGGGG I made instant mashed potatoes a few days ago and the instructions said to thin it out to soupy consistency and wow..it was not yummy. But it was better than being on broth so I didn't complain. OJ sounds so good right now. Can we have that?
  5. Way to go on the 2 miles per day!!!!! That's amazing!
  6. What kind of chest pains are you having? A few days ago, every time I would inhale, it would hurt. I was afraid of possible blood clots or whatever, but it slowly went away. Just the other day, I had my first burp and it was glorious! For the longest time, I wasn't able to burp and it caused a sharp pain in my throat and chest. I think you should call your doctor about the chest pain. I don't want to scare you, but your health is vital and we can't sit here and assume it's something else when it could be an issue. Someone may know about this! Please help!
  7. I felt that with my port too, but after calling the doctor's office, his assistant said that it's okay to feel it. Once the swelling goes down, you won't be able to feel it anymore. And she's right because I don't feel it as much anymore and it has only been a week post op. As for sugar....I can't help you there. I'm not getting enough Water and my urine is disgustingly yellow when it's usually clear. i try my best to get in enough water, but the sipping is still a struggle for me. I used to gulp my water like a savage and now I have to sip like a lady...oh boy
  8. I'm six days post op and on liquids as well. What kind of soft foods are you eating? Omg, Jamba juice sounds delicious lol. Hmph..are you waiting 5 minutes in between sips?
  9. Teekii77...I'm having the HARDEST time with this full liquid diet! I swear I am done with Soups and Protein shakes. I crave being able to eat normal food again so bad...I told my husband that I just want to take a bite of spaghetti, chew it to a mush, and spit it out LOL. Of course he said no... I am in no means trying to be judgmental or anything...so if any of my comments ever come off that way, I apologize in advance! I'm am a rookie with this whole lap band. Only a week post op and already going crazy with the liquid diet lol.
  10. Hey everyone, I am now six days post op and I can still hardly eat anything! I am not taking in enough Protein from the shakes because I can barely finish 1/2 cup without either feeling too full or sick of it. I'm starting to have a tough time with this liquid stage because I'm a person with love for food texture. So being on this liquid phase has been a tough ride, but I'm hanging in there. I'm still having gas, but not so bad. I'm so glad to be uP and about now. I would like to exercise, but will wait til I go to my two week check up to get the okay to go to the gym just to walk. As for food... I need some ideas for yummy and healthy liquids!!
  11. Congrats!! Glad to hear that you are feeling well! I can't wait to fully recover because I would like to go back to the gym!
  12. Humph.. That's weird. I was banded on May 2nd so I'm not that far from you. I just graduated to full liquids after being on broth for a few days. Weird thing for me is, I can Barely get my Protein shake down. I will take two to five sips and be done with it. I haven't had much to eat. However I know my appetite is there because my husband cooked food and I was loving the smell and it sucked to know I couldn't have it. As for you, I would assume the saltines and doritos would of gotten stuck!! I'm positive your band is there.. Some people feel more restriction with their bands even though there are no fills.
  13. Rachael, I know how stressful it can get with having kids. It's okay, don't beat yourself up too much over it. For the rest of the day, eat super healthy and drink lots of water
  14. That's the spirit, Shaunt! It wasn't like you ordered a bucket of chicken and ate it all. It was just some bread...you're still okay Have a good day!
  15. Hey Mr. P, that's what my doctor said too.. Is to drink water 30-45 mins before a meal and an hour after. But what about just sipping water? Do I have to wait 5 minutes to take another sip?
  16. "finally did it"... Congrats on your surgery! I hope the gas pains go away for you. I still have it but doctor said i can take gas x. Have you tried taking that?
  17. One question, I know we have to wait 5 minutes in between liquids and 10 minutes for solid foods.. Does the five minute wait period also apply for water?
  18. Hey slm2007! Thank you for your post. And I am in no way offended by it at all. Actually, I wanted to thank you for preparing me for the hunger stage! Yesterday (2 days post op), I contacted my doctor's physician about gas pains and along with that, she told me to go ahead and go to phase 1 of my diet which are full liquids and Protein shakes. So that's what I did...my husband made me an 8oz glass of Protein shake and just Water. Omg, I took about two sips and couldn't take it anymore. I felt pressure on my chest and it was so uncomfortable. I'll smell food around the house and it will smell amazing to me, but I have no interest in picking a piece up and eating it or anything. I'm finally not so swollen so I do feel my appetite coming back little by little. I know this next 5 weeks before my first fill will be pretty tough, but with the stage diets, it will help me keep my mind of cheating for sure. I don't plan on it anyways. I hope you are doing well and please do share your experience with me! Looking forward to hearing from you
  19. Hey! Congrats on your surgery! We are so close together which is awesome! I haven't started on protein drinks yet..still on clear liquids such as water, sugar free Popsicles, and chicken broth. I hope you're doing well today. Last night, I was in quite a bit of pain. I slept for about 10 hours and woke up feeling refreshed. Keep me updated!!
  20. Cindy C, thank you so much for your kind words! I am on day 3 post op and feeling much better today. I'm still gassy as ever, but like you said, it will take a few weeks for it to fully go away. I am taking an ounce of liquid per meal sitting like I should and haven't had the urge to eat anything or even think about food. I have a feeling this will be a success for me too! Your weight loss is amazing..I will join you very soon!
  21. I'm sorry to hear that! Your mom is very much like many other people out there.. They don't view lap band the way we do. I think shes going to try her best to convince you not to get it. Since you're so close to her, yOu should take her to a suppOrt group with you!
  22. Okay good to know that I'm on the right path. Thanks!! What type of Protein shake do you recommend?
  23. Oh man!! I had too much water last night and I know how you feel about being uncomfortable. I have not been interested in food either. Btw, congrats on your surgery
