Need To Start This Journey Over- I Failed
The same thing happened to me. I was banded Oct 2010 and the first few months were awesome!!! I lost about 45 lbs. I learned how to eat around the band and started falling back into my old habits. Needless to say, I totally fell off the wagon and gained some weight back. I started feeling really depressed which made me eat even more out of control. Ive decided that I need to get back to it. Summer is close again and I STILL cant fit into the cute clothes that I envision myself in My first week back ON i lost 4 lbs and the second week it was another 3. I think back at how i felt when I found out I was approved for the surgery( it was like I hit the lotto! awesome) then how it felt to hit the first 20 lbs lost mark (again... awesome) We can feel like that again!!! Just get back on and go!!! You can do it!

Feeling Defeated...
Hey girl, I can kinda relate to your "failure" feeling although our circumstances are different. I too started out doing great!!! I was down 42 lbs in just a few months and bought some new clothes to fit my changing body. I noticed that even though I was enjoying the feeling of weight loss success, I was starting to outsmart my band. Well needless to say I have gained back alot of the weight because I have just totally fallen off the wagon. I think maybe for me this could be ,in a very distorted way, a blessing though. I say this only because I have learned to hear what my body/band is telling me. At mealtime I can feel when I am satisfied (most of the time, choosing to ignore the feeling) and I feel "lighter" and more energetic when eating right. I have had several "stuck" episodes and have learned which foods will not work well for me. I made an attempt last month to get back ON THE WAGON and lost 4 lbs the first week then 3 the second week. Just make the decision to get back on the ball and listen to all the little signs you body gives you. It is super hard but you can do it. So we have felt like we FAILED, so what!!! That doesn't mean that we cant get back to it....it's not over, our bands dont have and expiration and we can use them whenever we want. JUST DO IT GIRL

Surgery went well, gas pains are killing me!
I had really bad gas pains in my shoulder. My doctor suggested hot peppermint tea and lots of walking. I must say it worked for me the gas will work itself out but try to walk a lot to help it out.

Thanks a bunch for the support!!! I made it thru day 1 of "Back in Band Land" and It didnt kill me I'm feeling pretty good and really want to get to goal! I think I need more variety in my diet. Of course thats not the main reason I fell off... but I think if i try some new stuff it may help. I think I'll go to Wendy's today for some Chili

Round 2
Hi Mel Mel, I'm glad you found a renewed sense of excitement!!! I was remembering the day I got the call to say I was approved. I was alone in my car and just screamed out of joy. Then when I went for my first week visit after getting banded I felt like a million bucks when I saw that I had dropped so many lbs. Such a great feeling...I want that again! I'm doin this meal by meal! I peeped out your pics and u are doin a great job!!! It's great to see success

Anyone else
Kristi Twisti.... Thanks for the laugh!! I mean that with affection . I have had that feeling too...we probably all have @ one point and If I had read your post while i was having an episode I probably would have thought the chopping out the Vagus Nerve was the perfect solution. I do remember that pain all too well. It sure is funny how our band reminds us that we are not doing the right thing STAY OFF THOSE HOT WINGS!!! and I hope you still have your arm

2nd fill and not sure how I should feel
Hi Helen098, Try not to be so down on yourself. My doc told me that around "that time" 3-5 lbs extra is normal and while we never want to see those extra lbs its not as bad as you may think. My cycle was out of whack for several months after getting banded. I have been having that "failing feeling" a lot and with good reason but the main thing is for us to remember that we have been blessed with this tool and this time WE CAN GET THERE!!! One day at a time Slow and steady wins the race right? Hope u cheer up soon

Round 2
Thanks for the words of encouragement Karen and Donna. I'm trying to get an appointment with my Primary Physician and hopefully I can get authorized to see a fill doctor. I had PPO insurance last year when I had surgery and now I'm with an H.M.O. For now I'm taking it one meal at a time. Karen, good luck with those clear fluids. Donna, have you been banded already?

Round 2
October 4th was my 1 year band-iversary. I planned on buying myself a new outfit. A really cute skinny outfit Well that idea went out the window...along with my weight loss. When I first got my lap band I felt like it was truly the best thing that had ever happened to me. It was an awesome tool!!! Somewhere along the journey I lost my way. I was down 42lbs and so so happy. Then I learned how to eat around the band. I have been gaining my weight back and have been so depressed. I feel like I did before the band... Promising myself that as soon as Monday rolls back around I'm getting back to It. Well Monday comes and goes and I just don't feel motivated. I know I was blessed to be able to get the band and so many people who so desperately need it cant get it. I need to get back to it! I feel so discouraged. Thanks for reading as I vent. I've been back to the site lately trying to find encouragement and inspiration and all of the positive posts here are very uplifting. Thanks All

Am I there ???????
Hang in there!!! I went the last 6 weeks and lost only 1 lb. I felt VERY discouraged. I thought really, i only lost 1 lb?? But It was 1 lb that I said goodbye to FOREVER!!! It's better I lost that 1 than gained 1 and even though the lbs are not coming off as fast as I'd like them to, I try to remember that SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!! Don't be frustrated just try to look ahead and keep moving!!! You may be losing inches. Thats just as nice!!! Good Luck

Real Quick Day
Welcome to "Band Land". Your user name made me chuckle!!! I knew someone who used to say that. LOL!! My first day home was awesome!!! no gas, no aches, no nothing... then came day 2 and so on!!! Gas pain in the shoulder was THE WORST!!! I got the same advise, KEEP MOVING, my doc also told me to drink peppermint tea. I was a tea drinkin fool for days. I felt waterlogged but it really helped with the gas pains!!! Good luck to you
