I came home to a husband and four kids. But I had gotten my pain meds early and stocked up the house for myself. My husband did drive the kids to school for a few days. I did need a ride home from the hospital. but besides that I was on my own. I did have a little hard time getting out of my bed. at night but I would put pressure on my incisions and just kind of roll over. it was all fine. i thil you will be ok on your own. just prepare for the next 3 or 4 days with liquids jello and don't forget your pain medication. Take it as prescribed. My Aunt is a nurse. She has always told me to take it even if I don' feel I need it so the pain cycle won't start. So good luck. You will love the band. I have lost almost 40 pounds in 3 months. I love it..

Hi. my insurance made me go see my primary care doctor for 6 months . I never lost a pound. And my insurance still covered me. Good luck

You will not be hungry for a few weeks. Then when the hunger returns it will be time for a fill. So no worries. Good luck

My hunger returned on week three. So I went a week starving before I had my first fill. She added 3cc's and it made a huge difference. I am 8 weeks out and am down around 35 pounds

Hi there. I had my band put on about 8 weeks ago. I have lost 35 pounds. The first couple weeks I was on liquids and then went on to mushy foods. I have had two fills. I can eat everything just in smaller quantities and slower. The band is awesome. Just take it slow the first few days and make sure you walk . Good luck

Thanks everyone. I go in tomorrow for a fill. Good luck!!

You will be amazed what you will be able to eat by Thanksgiving if your band is empty>>

Hi there. I was banded about 7 weeks ago. I have lost 30 lbs. the first week it was 15. After the surgery I was sore where my port was. I couldn't even feel the other ones. I did take my pain medication every 4 hours so that really helped. I didn't stay in the hospital. They did mine day surgery. After about three weeks after surgery my hunger returned. And you would not believe what i could eat. I went in for a fill and that helped a little but i am going back in 2 weeks for another. I wish I did this 10 years ago. So good luck and no worries:)

I think since my band only has 3.5 cc in it I have never experienced any thing bad with the band. A few sips of soda and i am ok. I can eat everything but my body tells me when im full and I stop. I think this is because my band is not that full. ask others who have more experience. I have only been banded for 6 weeks :0 good luck

I have only been banded for 6 weeks. I had my first fill last week. Before my first fill I was starving and could eat everything. I noticed with my first fill I am filling up easier. I can eat everything. Except rice..

My first fill is tomorrow. I am going through the exact same thing. Back hungry like always. The first three weeks were amazing then one morning its like i woke up starving.. I had my surgery October 27th

Sounds like your doing great. Good luck.. My port is like above my belly button and to the left. Since i have lost a few pounds I can feel it. But the first week I was swollen and could not figure where it was at. really I was most sore in only one spot. And thats where I ended up finding my port. I am out 3 weeks. Down 24 lbs. But this week i am struggling. My hunger has returned. I really think its due to some stress going on. I think I will get a small fill on Monday. Good luck with you...

I am out 8 days. I have the same feeling. I think its the lower part of our stomach growling from not having the food its used to. Mine also stops when i am drinking my soup. The warmth of the soup helps. So drink some warm tea and things. The cold water makes mine worse. So drink yours room temperature. Good luck..

Hi everyone. I had surgery on the 28th so 4 days ago. It was just day surgery so I came home like9 hours later. The pain was not to bad. I have been taking my liquid pain medication every 4-6 hours. Yesterday my gas was really bad but today it is feeling better. Today i had a little chicken broth, jello and a protein shake. i tried the ones from the bariatric place and could not swallow it. I ended up having a slim fast ready made shake. good luck to everyone. Keep us all updated
