January Bandsters???
The Reverse Diet!!! At the heart of The Reverse Diet is the old adage eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch, and a pauper for dinner, The Reverse Diet is a weight loss plan that focuses on changing the times of day when you consumme your calories. The large number of calories that are consummed in the evening at dinner are reversed with the low number of calories that are consummed at breakfast. This simple switch or reversal will significantly effect how your body uses calories. Breakfast is normally followed by an entire day of physical activity where the calories are burned, while dinner is normally followed by a long period of inactivity. There is no rocket sceince here, only basic, sensible low-fat nutrition used in a more efficient manner. The main drawbacks are practicality if you have a family or other constraints. Also, most people don't have much of an appetite in the morning. The third drawback, and perhaps the biggest, is the long-term viability of such a strategy. Do you plan on following such a regimen indefinately? If not, you fall into the common curse of diets and weight loss programs: once the diet ends most people slide back into their old ways of living and the weight comes back. Having said all this, you could do much worse in choosing a weight loss plan than the Reverse Diet. So, we say, we already had our big meal in the morning, if we are meeting for lunch our reverse diet lunch is soup and dinner is the smallest meal of all!!! I give this one a thumbs up!!!

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
I had no idea you could pb on a liquid. I am thinking that my surgeon has us on a liquid stage for three weeks to also learn about the band and experience these things on liquids not solids. I didn't PB but had a lot of saliva. It took over an hour to feel better. This is truely the ultimate learning experience. Thanks for all your help!!!

Post of day Ten
I had a really good day, up until dinner time. I pureed to runny some Campbells Select Clam Chowder and ate the whole thing, 15 ounces and on top of that I had liquids right before and right after. I have felt nauseous and FULL for over an hour and sick!!!! I didn't realize I had to follow bandster rules about liquids even on my liquid stage. I KNEW I should only eat half, but I didn't feel full WHILE eating it so I ate it all. I was told to have a small portion than stop, we won't always feel full right away. If I am still hungry 15 minutes after, then eat a little more. Today this is what I ate Breakfast: I gano mocha coffee and soy milk, 200 cal, 6 protein Lunch: Blended tortilla soup about 1 cup with melted shredded cheese; 250 cal Snack: danon drinkable yogurt, 60 cal, 5 gms. protein Dinner: Clam chowder, 210 cal, 6 g protein Vitamin Water; 125 cal total calories; 885 calories ( add one laughing cow; 50 cal and some beef broth) Liquids: 40 ounces Liquid vitamins I need to remember and go over the bandster rules. Especailly about keeping small portions and not drinking before, during and after.

Not Recommended to have Lap Band???!!!
Dr. Romero was the Dr. who said he wouldn't do it, not Dr. Ortiz. I personally spoke to Dr. Ortiz's patiend coordinator and was told yes they do higher bmi patients, you just need to do pre op diet.

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
Thank you guys!!! I made the mistake of drinking about ten ounces right before, had fifteen oucnes of soup and immediatley drank sixteen ounces of crystal light. My first thought was to get something cold to drink or an ice pop, since that USED to help, but it sounds like that would make it worse???
-
Lower BMI Bandsters!
You know what I did wrong too? I immediately drank 15 ounces of water before the soup and I drank a lot right before. I didn't realize that those rules of not drinking before and after had to do with me on liquids. I thought I had to do that when i was on mushy/solids. DAMN

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
I don't know why I thought the waiting to drink before and after only had to do when you were eating solids. I didn't know it was for when you were on liquids. I know now!!!

Lower BMI Bandsters!
Thanks Susan. I hate this feeling. I hope I learn so when it comes time to solids and mushies I don't do this again but would definitely PB then!!! I will definitely take my time. I was just so eager and was out all day and a little hungry. I was also at my grandmas and felt I had to eat faster than normal. I ate at "normal" pace. I was thinking about having a fruit pop. Normally when I am nauseous, something cold makes me feel better. My stomach feels so full, I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!

Lower BMI Bandsters!
I feel straight out nauseous and I am not sliming, but saliva is being produced like when you are going to throw up. Laying down is the only thing helping somewhat. I am definitely not going to eat dinner!!! I have had major restriction and thought that the soup would be okay since it was so runny. I didn't realize I had to watch my portions with liquids if It felt okay while eating. The other days I clearly knew when I HAD to stop. I don't want to feel sick like this again. I hate this feeling. Somone somewhere said to have 1/2 a cup of any type of food, wait fifteen minutes and if you are still hungry have a 1/4. I didn't listen!!!

hello fellow banders
You can also find really good support on the Januray Bandsters thread. The people there are very supportive and informative!!

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
I feel nausous and worse if I walk around. I am not sliming, but have more saliva secreting tha usual. I am laying down and just feel like my stomach is over full. I didn't feel like that as I was eating, it hit me after I drank more liquids. I even got a slight headache. I have not been able to eat that much and have had a lot of restriction. I remember thinking, I should only eat half of this, but didn't feel uncomfortable to stop like usual, so I didn't stop. I feel awful. It has been like forty five minutes and the saliva keeps on coming. Audree

Lower BMI Bandsters!
Supergenius, how much chili were you able to eat? I had a Campbells select cup of soup that was 15 oz and I feel really sick right now, nauseous and over full. I didn't feel like that as I was eating. Did I over do it! Also, what kind of chili did you buy or did you make it?

January Bandsters???
Great to hear you are doing so well!!!

Lower BMI Bandsters!
Another excuse to use when out with friends is that you are doing a detox. I have done so many different types of detox, the maple syrup and lemon for three days detox, the veggie shake only detox, pills to detox, etc. Since your body it detoxing you can generally only have organic fish or organic chicken, veggies or just broth.

HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
:help: :help: I am day 10 post op and have been doing very well. I had a Campbell's Clam Chowder Soup pureed to a thin consistency and no chunks. It was one of those Campbels Select on the go 15 oz little bowls. Well, I was so excited, I ate the whole thing. I didn't feel uncomfortable as I ate it or right after. I did also drink 16 oz of crystal light after and now I feell NAUSOUS and my stomach feels sore!!! Did I over do it?? Why didn't I feel full to stop???? I feel like I could very easily throw up and am lying down. What should I do? Thanks for you help!!! Audree
