Thanks. I think I'll be OK at my target weight --- it's lower than I've been in my adult life but still at the upper end of a normal BMI so I should still have some fat ... If not, I'll just have to be happy with the smaller breasts

You may have discovered this already, but I just discovered Almond Flour (finely ground almonds). I made a delicious air fried chicken piccata with that as a crust and it was delicious and low carb. It also satisfied a craving for something crunchy breaded so I thought I'd share.

One of my goals for WLS was to be able to go rock climbing with my daughter. Today we finally went and it was awesome!

This morning I hit a new all time low BMI for me since I started gaining weight after my kids were born. My BMI is now 29.8 so I’m am now just overweight and no longer obese! I have 13.2 pounds left to get to my original goal, but think I’ll drop a further 5 from there to defend a 5 pound range. I’ve got PS scheduled in January, so right on track to reach my goal in October and then maintain a couple months prior to surgery. Feels soooooo good!!!

On another note, the closer I get to goal, the more people notice when I’ve dropped smaller amounts. Early on I’d get a lot of comments every 20 pounds or so. Now it’s about every 5.

Ditto high stress desk job. My doctor offered a month and I was able to take a medical leave, so I took the full month. I probably could have gone back at 2 weeks, but I was able to use the extra time to get my eating down and to do lots of walking - I couldn't go to far at once so instead I went a few times a day. If you can get the time, I would take it.

I am officially 7 months post surgery and am incredibly happy with my progress so far. I'm down 122.4 lbs total, and 80.8 since surgery. A few of my NSVs:
    - The arthritis in my knees causes significantly less pain
    - I am walking 2 miles most days, and hiking when I get the chance (up to 6 or more miles)
    - My strength and endurance is increasing. I still get winded and need to take breaks (especially on inclines) but there's no way I could have done some of the hikes I'm doing pre-surgery.
    - I'm down from a tight 2X to a L or XL.
    - I have collarbones again
Below pics is from shortly after I started my journey (pre-surgery) to this morning.

I had someone drive me home and then I was alone through recovery and it was fine. Just make sure your house is set up with easy access to your diet and fluids and that you don't need to lift anything and you should be fine.

loridee11 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Question for those in maintenance: Full v not hungry after meal
I've been really lucky in that I haven't had a ton of hunger since surgery. Even now, I may get hungry or I may not.
However, I have also noticed I don't get "full" on 5-6 oz of food (lean meats and veggies). For the most part, I stop eating at that amount and I'm no longer hungry - but again, not full. I realized I don't really know how people who don't have weight problems do this. Before surgery, I would eat until I was stuffed most the time and I'm pretty sure "normal" eaters don't do that. But do they look for a feeling of being full, or just no longer hungry?
For those of you who are out further and in maintenance - do you eat to when you are full? Or do you stop when you are just not hungry anymore?

A couple of other cool NSVs:
While out hiking, a friend was walking behind me (one of the few that know I had the surgery). She made a .comment about how different I look from behind and that my waist was cutting in I ordered a new v neck tshirt in size L and it fit perfect!!! I was wearing 2XL and many of them were too tight. I was cleaning out my coat closet today (I've cleaned out my main closet a few times, but never got around to my coats). Being in Northern California and wIth surgery end of December, then Covid, I didn't really wear most of my coats this year. I have a raincoat that last year was really tight - I could wear it but couldn't button all the buttons. I tried it on today and it was HUGE. You could literally fit another person in there with me Yay!
