    Today: The Gripes and Complaints

Oh....I remember the bad breath. Those first few days were horrible. However, I am out 6 weeks and it is totally gone. I know it was around day 3 that I also started to question myself. Although...once I was able to eat soft food. It was so much better! Good luck!

    Nervous About First Fill

Hi, all! I am scheduled to have my first fill on September 14th. I have no idea what to expect and I am a little nervous. What do they do? What should I expect? Are there any special things that you must do after a fill? Does it hurt? I had my surgery on July 28th. I am sticking to 3 meals a day. Although.....I get soooooo hungry between meals. I try to act like I am full. Or....I drink lots of water to try to make myself feel full. I was not expecting this to happen. Any info on this would be very much appreciated!

    14Months Post-Op - Still Losing Slowly

Wow! How exciting to have loss that much so far! I am in agreement with being able to eat all kinds of foods. I did try a small lean steak. I had no problems. However, I did chew the ##@@ out of it....just to make sure. LOL

3 wks post op and can eat anything

We both get our first fill on September 14th. I know I could eat a lot more as well. I wondered if others worried about putting on weight during this period. It just seems like I can eat a lot. I have to really focus and eat slow to make sure that I don't. I guess that is one of the reason I am like another bandster....I keep getting on the scale to make sure that I stay on track. You know I also wonder.....once we get our first fill, can we even eat an entire piece of pizza? We need to just keep our chins up and know that we are a work in progress. We won't be perfect, but just do the best that we can!

Why am I such a scale whore??

Oh my gosh....their are other's out there like me. I weigh in the morning. Then....just to make sure I did okay for the day....I weigh at night. It is insane. I have this inner fight with myself that I will just weigh myself on Saturdays. I have yet to achieve that goal. LOL

    Nervous About First Fill

Thank you so much for that information! It is great that to find someone who had their on the same day! How is everything going for you so far? I am down from 313 (July 21/my highest weight) to 289 lbs. That is exciting for me. How has it been since your first fill? Also...thank you so much for the information! It is GREATLY appreciated!

the emotional part after the banding

I remember the first week after surgery....wondering why I couldn't have done it on my own. I thought if I could drink liquid for 2 weeks...surely I should have done it on my own. However, once I was allow to eat soft foods, I begin to feel much better and appreciate the lapband. I had my surgery July 28th. I won't get my first fill until September 14th. I am feeling so much better about this choice all the time.

    Start of a new life!

Good luck with your weight loss. I can relate to being an emotional eater. My worst time is late in the evening when all is quieting down. My support group leader gave me an acronym that helps. HALT...ask yourself are you hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. I think of this when I feel like eating and know I shouldn't. I have not had a fill yet...so I have found myself getting hungry. I know you will do a good job! Keep us posted.

    Doc App. Update..

I get my first fill on September 14th. I am hoping that it helps with the rumbling stomach. I do get so hungry some times. I just tell myself to HALT or go to bed (lol). I must say that it just keeps getting better and better everyday. How many days are you out from your surgery?

    Liquid Diet

I finished the liquad diet a little over a week ago! I feel your pain. I had a few days during that phase when I had to question myself. However, I have moved on to soft foods and loving it. Just keep telling yourself it is temporary. And...stay away from the TV. I never knew how many food commercials were about food. Just know we have all been there.

    Me.......

Way to go! I am 24 days post op. I can't wait to the day that I lose 60 lbs. You should be very proud of yourself! Keep up the great work. It does help to have a supportive network.

    Admitting I'm a Binge Eater

I think that you are taking a good first step in identifying the problem and trying to work through why you do it in the first place. Don't feel like a failure. Just take it one day at a time. You can do it! Keep me posted.

    Ahh!!

Yeah! Just remember it is "your" choice in who you wish to tell or not tell. I wish you the best of luck with everything! Hats off to the new you!

    Happy Days

Way to go! I had to laugh because last year when I took my kids to an amusement park they wanted me to ride on the roller coaster. Well....it was so embarassing. I had to lift up my tummy a little bit. I was just banded 2 weeks ago and I cannot wait until next summer to have that same experience that you did with your daughter! Hats off to making memories!

    GIBY97, Feelings after 4th FILL, 7.0 cc's Total 10cc band

Way to go and keep up the great job! It is a great feeling to not need the seat belt extender. I am going for my first feel so I am glad that you gave that bit of information as to what you can expect.

    Day 10 of 27

Oh, Leigha! I am so sorry. I am also on Day 10. Yesterday, my kids ate the last of the Greek Yogurt. We had a nice little chat about "mom's food" for the time being. I didn't tell them not to eat it because I didn't think they would be crazy about the taste. Oh well...my lesson to learn. When, I went to the store today, I looked for any cream/soft items I could find. I can't wait for the day of "real" food. I know we will both get there soon! I hope you feel better soon!

Two weeks and a day out!

Congrats! I had my lapband put on July 28th. I go to see my doctor on Friday. I have a question though...is your doctor allowing you to eat anything 2 weeks out. I see people have so many different plans. And....I totally understand the "little" bathroom issue. That can be quite the inconvenience! Let me know about your diet 2 weeks out if you get the chance! Thanks!

In horrible pain four days out

Hello! I also had my banding done on July 28th. I am amazed at how many commericials are on TV about food. I didn't really notice it before (LOL). However, I am so sick of being on this liguid diet. But....I know that I must...5 days out(counting surgery day). I hope your pain subsides soon. I am not in so much pain as it is just discomfort. I can deal with that though!

I had surgery and some complications!

Hi, I had my surgery on Wednesday and still have a lot of gas. I want to get rid of it one way or another. I do know that walking helps a lot. I also was able to go #2 yesterday. That was a relief. However, I am surprised that the scales have me heavier than pre surgery. How can that be with this liguid diet? I guess it is from all of the swelling. However, I feel like I should be 10 pounds lighter. I am not going to weigh myself again until I go to the Dr. next Friday. Although, I am excited to see a drop in weight.
