That is great Jen! Doesn't it feel good to have the actual "surgery" part of the journey behind you? For me that was the biggest unkown. Right now I'm pretty much on regular foods at this point, I just chew like crazy. I don't have any band restriction yet which is dangerous, let me tell you! At one point I gained 3 lbs back but was able to get it off again. As of now I am 19 lbs down. I get my first fill a week from today! Take care, keep me udpated.

Hi Kimberlee! Thanks so much, that actually motivates me as well! I am about 3 weeks out now and very happy so far with my descision. The weight is coming off and it's great to see a smaller number on the scale. When do you expect to have yours done? Best of luck to you!

Thanks! My surgery went well, and hopefully yours will too. I was surprised at how smoothly it went. I wasn't in a ton a pain, but I kept on top of my painkillers which I would highly recommend. If you stay overnight, have your nurse give you all the pain killers your doc orders. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Hey! Congrats on your surgery. I had mine the same day, 8/6/10 as well. I too had really bad gas post-op, it moved from my chest, up to my shoulders and then up to my neck. It eventually all left by day 3. But yeah, it hurts! But then it's gone. Good luck on your journey.....

No worries! I just went back today (took 4 days off) and it was not too bad. I started getting really tired at the end of the day and couldn't wait to get home and take my painkillers and lay down flat. But overall, I'm doing really well (at least I think so!).

Over all I am feeling pretty good after surgery. Just taking it easy, I went back to work today and it was fine but my abdominal area got pretty sore since I sat for a long time and didn't take any painkillers. Tomorrow I have to remember to take walk breaks.

Good luck on your surgery! I noticed we are close in age and starting weight. I just turned 29 a few days ago and started at 288lbs. I had my surgery done 4 days ago. Your surgery date will be here before you know it! Best of luck to you.

Hi Ryan,
Yeah I had my EGD done about 3 weeks ago, it was fine, I was under the entire time so didnt' feel a thing but had a sore throat afterwards for a day or two. The LapBand surgery itself was 3 days ago, and it went really smoothly. Don't be nervous. Just mentally put yourself on auto-pilot and you'll go through the whole thing no problem. When is your surgery? You will do great!

Thanks! I'm surprised at how good I do feel, now that it's been 48 hours out. I think I may just see how I feel tomorrow morning (Monday) and decide from there if I want to go in. I think my boss will understand.
How is everything going for you, how are you feeling??

My surgery went pretty well, no complications as of yet. I ended up having to stay overnight when I thought I would just be an outpatient but that ended up being ok. I did try to walk as much as possible after surgery. I got a lot of the gas pain everyone talked about. Chest, shoulders, neck. It kept moving around but its mostly all gone now that 48 hours have gone by. How was yours???

I had a hiatal hernia too, my doctor put in 3 stiches. Are you in the hospital still?

50 lbs...that is awesome! Do you feel different? I know exercise is important, I hope I can motivate myself to do it on a regular basis. I do like hiking, but that is about it. Can I ask, how much pain were you in after your surgery, and how many days did you take off work? I am having mine done on a Friday and am thinking of returning on Tuesday. I have a desk job that isn't very demanding.
