It is very hard for me to believe that I have been banded for 1 week already! Where does the time go?? I am almost at 100%, still have a tad bit of gas pain that settles in my left shoulder occassionaly, but when it does, it hurts! A tiny bit of tenderness in my belly button, but otherwise feeling great! I returned to work on Post Op Day 5 and it has definetly helped to be up moving around.

I was certain I would be able to feel my port, but I can not. I had a dream last night that when I went for my post op (which isn't until next Wednesday), that they told me I didn't have a band! Oh my, it woke me up from a sound sleep! LOL! Just curious if others know exactly where their band is??

I read the boards and blogs diligently and it is very amazing to me the variances in post op diet by surgeon. My surgeon requires:
    Day 1-14 -- thin liquids
    Day 15-30 -- thick liquids
    Day 30+ -- soft foods
To say I am sick of just liquids is putting it mildly, but I am not and will not give in! I am going to follow the rules to a T to be sure I am given myself every available avenue to be successful! I so want something crunchy LOL! Not too many crunch liquids out there!

I will end with my stats -- I am pretty happy!

    Week 1 loss 4.8
Total loss 14.4 (since starting preop diet)

Well I have transitioned to the other side!!! I am now a Bandster!!! My day at the hospital yesterday was uneventful. I arrived at 7 as instructed, but never went to surgery until about 12. Waiting is not one of my favorite things LOL! So it was making me more nervous than anything. I came home about 4.

Today I am just very sore around my belly button area and hurts just a bit to take deep breaths, but all in all, not too bad. I am so ready for a shower LOL! I will be a good girl and wait until tomorrow as instructed, but boy could I use one right now.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me up to this point and I will certainly be calling on you more, now that I will have bandster questions!

    Hugs,
    Jane

To say I am very proud of myself is to put it mildly. Yesterday, after the call from my surgeon's office about his fee, due tomorrow at my Pre-Op, I cried most of the day, stayed pretty depressed, but stayed determined it would all work out.

I have to claim my 1st NSV!!!! In any high stress situation, I always turn to food. I am so proud to say that last night, I stayed on my pre-op diet and did not let food control my emotions. That is a major step for me. One I will have to continue on forever!!!

    Pre-Op tomorrow, Surgery 10/8! I can not wait!!!:smile::thumbup:

Just when I think everything is set for my new mission - surgery date 10/8.....another bump in the road. Received a call today from my Patient Advocate that I need to bring $3500 to my pre-op appointment on Wednesday. Apparently, my insurance will cover everything but the surgeon fee. Don't take me wrong, I am grateful that my insurance is covering anything at all, but have no idea how to find $3500 by 7am Wednesday. UGH!!!!!!!

I had my EGD, which is required by my surgeon, done this morning and it was a piece of cake. I was super worried about my gag reflex, but I did not even get close to knowing the scope was near my mouth LOL! Thank goodness for good meds! LOL! Apparently, I have a pretty "impressive" hiatal hernia that will be repaired as well. Had no idea!

Now I am just waiting on my PCP to submit my 5 year weight history so everything can be submitting to insurance. Hopefully that will not take too long and I can get approval and get a surgery date!

The PA I met with today was fabulous! And the patient advocate I was supposed to be working with all along is on her game!

Today - Physical, EKG, CXR and Labs
    8/10 - Nutritional Consult
    8/16 - Stress Test
    8/23 - EGD

After the Stress Test, she can submit everything for insurance approval.

I feel 150% better after my visit today.

    Thanks for your support!!!!

I really didn't learn anything that I hadn't already learned reading all the messages here!

Now I have to have an appointment with Real Results for my surgery clearances. I am so darn confused. I thought I had to meet my insurance requriements which were psych and 6 mo weight loss. The surgeon wasn't very clear on what I would do at this appt and the receptionist there said I would meet with the NP, who would tell me what else I have to do. I am going to have to learn patience! LOL!

I just did not expect it to take months to get even close to getting a surgery date. Seems like each visit creates one more visit. Sorry to sound so down, I was just expecting so much more out of today's visit.

I attended my informational seminar on Saturday, and if I wasn't certain before then that the LapBand was for me, I am now!

My insurance requires a 6 mo diet plan, which I have already completed and a psych evaluation, so I am hoping it is a quick transisition! I am so ready! I wish I would have done this years ago!

    Beyond excited in Georgia!
