  1. I'm glad I read this because I was able to erase one of my replys. I didn't realize that this was a rant and raves forum. I saved myself from getting told off. thanks
  2. I have flown 4 times this year, North West, United, US Air, and Jet Blue and I haven't had any problems. First class seats are bigger but I flew coach.
  3. My 18 yr.old self would be surprised that I weigh this much, I always thought I was heavy in school and I only weighed 119# my senior year. She would be surprised that my marriage only lasted 5 yrs and I never got remarried, that I lived my life through my two boy's, but she would be proud of how my boy's turned out. She would be happy that I am finally putting me first after 42 yrs. and doing something about my health and learning to live for me and not other people. And I think she would be proud of how I stood my ground on what I felt was right no matter what.
  4. Congratulations to everyone. Doesn't it feel awsome to see results. Keep up the good work and hopefully I will be close to goal in a year post op. I started at 249 and am now at 225.:clap2:
  5. After my banding I wasn't hungry for the first week then I started eating more food and I was hungry most of the time. I had my first fill 5 wks out and it helped but am still hungry at times. I'm not starving and I have made myself watch my food portions. I eat 1 cup of food at a time, three meals a day and one snack. Sometimes I think the hunger is in my brain more than in my stomach. I also don't drink anything 30 min. before or after I eat and this has seemed to help alot. I am very happy with my band and I know that this was the right choice for me.
  6. I'm banded and having no problems. I love it.
  7. I'm sending some hugs Pinky, I know that it's hard today but it is going to be worth it. And by Cristmas time rolls around you will beable to eat some of your favorites. Have you tried Gas-X for your gas? My doctor recommended it and it did wonders, also walking seemed to help. I hope this helps some. Just remember your not alone.
  8. Hello OHIO, I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day. It's been one month today since I was banded so I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 6# since I had my first fill on Monday. I couldn't believe it. My clothes that I tried on last week for my upcoming cruise were a little snug but this morning they fit just right. Hopefully this keeps up and I will be one happy person. Beck I am so glad that you got approved, my advice for you is to look at things on the upside and realize that it is going to be different. By having this surgery this is a door opening for you to lose the weight and become healthy and live life like it should be lived. I also recommend that you listen to what your dr. tells you to do. You will see better results and not run the risk of becoming sick. And lastly I would say to relax and enjoy the holidays and get ready for the new year and the new you.
  9. I have not told anyone but my parents, not even my 2 grown sons. I guess it's because I have failed at so many other tries that I want to keep this to myself. But I feel that this is a personal issue and if you feel comfortable telling people then by all means do so but if you don't want to then that's ok also.
  10. I'm so sorry that you had to listen to some simple minded person. Please don't let it get you down, I know that's easier said than done, but if you let it get you down then he has won and there is no way in H... that he deserves to win. "HUGS"
  11. Hi everyone, I went for my first fill yesterday, it wasn't bad, just a little prick and then it was done. I gained 3 tenths of a pound, I knew I shouldn't of drank that Iced latte before I went :heh: but I don't think that I'm going to worry about that, I am eating better than before the band and I know that it will come off. I started back at Curves yesterday and it felt good. Now just keeping it up is another story. Oh and about my fill, at first he only added 1cc then he realized that I had the bigger band so he added 3cc more. I thought I could feel the band moving when he added the extra but I'm not for sure. I didn't have any trouble last night with eating or drinking and I did get fuller faster.
  12. Hello OHIO, Just wanted to say hi and I hope everyone is having a nice weekend:) Jennifer I'm thinking about you and am anxious to here how everything went. Congratulations sac1556!!!:clap2: I know you must be relieved that your insurance approved the lapband. Not much longer, it will be here before you know it. I go tomorrow for my first fill, not really nervious but curious on how it's going to go. I'll let everyone know tomorrow.
  13. Hi, I was banded Oct. 18th and I'm just starting to walk on my treadmill for 30 min. a day. I want to bump it up everyweek until I'm walking faster and longer. My DS is going to help me set up a program when he comes home for x-mas. I know that I want to be half as good as Telly is eventually and I will be very very happy
  14. Hi Susan I am having trouble getting my ticker to go. Everytime I try it say's invalid file. I would really appreiciate it if you could help me figure this out. Thanks alot, Lisa
  15. Hi Everyon, I'm glad that we have this Ohio section also. It's good to know that there are people close by that are going through the same thing as you are. Debbie, I think Dr. Shumacher is the greatest, he is so informative and I like his staff also, Jarred is also very helpful. Once they sent everything into the insurance it took about 3 wks. for the approval. I went in the hospital Wed. morning for surgery and left Thursday around 3 o'clock. The first day was a little uncomfortable but it got better each day. I went back to work on the following monday, I work in a manufacturing place, I don't have a sit down job, the first night back seemed so long but I was able to do it with no problem. I heard about Dr. Shu through the Dayton paper. I am not as hungery as before but I have been eating regular foods for about 1 wk and my will power is starting to falter. If I eat to much there is a pressure at the top of my stomach and I belch more. SO this makes me not eat to much. macdeb59- way to go. doesn't it feel awsome to be losing weight without struggling so much. Are you scheduled for a fill anytime soon? I go Monday and I'll let everyong know how is went. Lisa Banded 10/18/2006 First fill scheduled 11/13/2006
  16. Hi I was banded Oct.18th at Sycamore Hospital in Centerville. Dr. Shuemacher was my doctor and I started the process July 20th. I have lost 13# so far. My insurance is Anthem Blue cross blue shield. The Dr. office told me that my insurance was one of the best ones for approving weight loss surgeries. Oh and I live north of Cinci about an hour and a half away. Good luck to all of you, I really do fill that this is going to work.:clap2: Lisa Banded 10/18/06 First fill scheduled 11/13/06
