Post-Op Hunger Poll
The first two weeks I was truly hungry. While others on this site tried to convince me that it was head hunger they were wrong. I discussed this with my nutritionist and she said I needed to eat something and she was right. I moved from liquids to pureed food 4 days early. Now the hunger is not so much now. I still feel it once in a while but a few bites will satisfy me. I am dealing with it much better now. Everybody has different experiences. The growling has decreased and I happy about it. Yesterday I made 3 weeks and I am hoping that as time goes on I too will not experience hunger at all like others.

Week 7 Surgiversary -- Made it to ONEderland!
Congratulations! I will weeks tomorrow and have lost 15 since surgery 25 total. I am 5'2" and my birthday is also in November. I feel like we have the same goals. I also want to be somewhere around 120 and would like to be as close as possible to that by my birthday. I am getting somewhere around 400 -500 calories a day and that is stretching it. I get full very quickly. I am exercising 30 min 3X a week so far. It's still light (just walking or using my wii). I know you were excited about getting out of those size 20's. I am about to hang on my door a size 16 dress (not 16W but 16) as my next goal to get into. You have inspired me.

I Graduated to Mushy
I had mashed potatoes for my first meal. I went to the store and purchased some eggs, grits, soup, and shredded crab meat.

I Graduated to Mushy
I went for my followup today and was told I can move onto the next stage. I am so happy I can have food now even if its just mushy. I could only have a few spoon fulls but it was great. I was full and satisfied after the few spoon fulls and it felt great. Now, I suppose after reading the different post the stall will begin.

Expected weight loss
I know how you feel. I had my surgery on Feb 7th also. The first week I lost 8 lbs and I thought that was low. But I am grateful for the loss. I have my followup appointment on tomorrow. I have not gone back to work yet. I have the time so I thought I would use it. I have been doing some light exercise with the wii (playing games) but not over doing it. I have heard others say that the body is in shock and is trying to hold on to the storage weight it has especially since the calorie intake it so low. So, I'm hoping that once I start a regular diet and exercise the weight will start to fall off.

My First NSV
I pulled out a pair of pants this morning to hang in my vision as Clothing Goal #1 to be able to wear. Previously I could not get in them much less zip the up. Well, not only did I get them on, they feel a little loose. So, I have decided to wear them today and find another article of clothing to strive to wear later.

Work after surgery
my surgery was on 2/7/11 and I am not going back to work until 3/7/11. I have the time so I am going to use it. I do feel fatigue 9 days out. Today was the first day that I did not need a nap. I just want to make sure that I am healed enough inside also. Plus, the gas and acid reflux would have made it difficult for me.

getting really frustrated.
Its always good to know that you are not alone in your struggle. I am 8 days out and was a little disappointed yesterday when I recorded my 1 week weight loss as 8.4 lbs. When you hear others have double digit numbers my thought was WTH. That was only for a moment. I then realized 8lbs was an achievement not to be dismissed. I look at it like this: it will come off.

Heartburn
GAS and Acid Reflux is the reason I am still up. It also makes it difficult for me to get all the liquids in sometimes. I still feel it in my chest. But, I will try taking the Previcid on an empty stomach and see if that helps better. Thanks for the tip.

weight gain after surgery?? can this be possible?
I know that everyone is different, so I try to take it all in stride and be grateful for the opportunity given to me to regain my life. I am 1 week out since surgery, and I only lost 8.4 lbs since surgery (10 lbs prior to surgery to equal 18.4 total). It is also depended on your original/current weight. Heavier person tend to loose more initially (not always true, but it is an observation). Also it maybe dependent on your activity. Since my Acid Reflux has been giving me grief, I wasn't as active until Saturday, when I went out and walked. Constipation can contribute to not loosing as quickly also.

Stuffed with 3 oz. of pudding
I had a rough night last night. I had maybe 3 oz of protein pudding and was stuffed. I paid for it royally. I can't believe how 3 oz could make me so full and sick.

Step by step guide to the VSG experience!
My surgery is scheduled for Monday, February 7, 2011. Your adventure made me laugh so, that I will reflect back on it on Monday. I have had an abdominal surgery before, and could recall the things you have shared in your story. I am hoping the pain will be less severe since it is laposcopic (as oppose to the open surgeries I have had in the past). Never the less I am still excited about finially getting sleeved. But, that for making me laugh.
