  1. Hi Sooz, I use Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate and it tastes Great. I've tried the Gourmet Vanilla, Rich Chocolate and Cafe Mocha. 1.5 g fat, 2 g carbs, 24 g protein & 114 Cals. Yummy:thumbup: (tried the Butterscotch, I wasn't wild about but drank it). I get it shipped. You can just google it to find the best price. It says to mix with 5-6 ozs. but I use 8 oz. 1% milk.   6. Hi Karen, Thanks for the encouraging words. I've only lost 12 lbs. but have my pre-op diet coming up in June. My diabetes is so improved with this small loss. (less insulin and improved blood work):redface:!! I'm kind of going thru a Mourning the loss of my best friend "Food" this week. Just a small BUMP in the road. I am really very excited about having less pain in my ankles, feet and back. It will be nice having more energy so I can start moving. Have a Great Weekend, Carol D'

  8. Hi Dana, I had to have my Galbladder removed 3/31/10 be fore my July 7th Surgery date. So 2 operations in 3 months.:laugh:. Not my idea of fun but, needed to be done. I was very uncomfortable for 5 days. I took the pain pills!! I was back in "Fighting Form" in 2 weeks. I'm 60 so you should bounce back much faster than an old F-rt like me.:w00t:!!   9. Hi Bunny, I'm booked for July 7th. I too have sleep apnea, diabetes and bad ankles & knees. I started at 276 and am down 10. Just losing 10 lbs. has helped me get control of my blood sugars. I can't wait to see what is ahead!! I'm very optomistic and excited to regain a healthier life:smile2:!!! Carol D'
  10. Hi Krek, Welcome :w00t:!!! I saw my nutritionist in Jan. It helped me alot. I've only lost 12 lbs. but my diabetes is under control and using much less insulin. I just found the forums this week and it really helps knowing there are so many nice people in the same boat and willing to help. Carol D'

  13. Hi Marion/Majj, Nice meeting you and thanks for warm welcome. I'm married 31 yrs. Live outside Boston with hubby Bill and Golden Retriever Cassie (5) on a small Lake. I have a 41 yr. old son who lives in Florida 1500 miles away. I visit twice a year in the winter for Christmas & early spring (March). They come north for a month in the summer (July). I have 7 Grandkids!!!! from 1 1/2-17 yrs old :biggrin:!! I got my acceptance letter from insurance this afternoon:thumbup:. YAAAAA!!!!! Surgery date July 7th. Just waiting now. Carol D'

  16. Hi Carol, I'm new to the sight as well. I was a nervous wreck too. It's a very quick visit with the Doctor and more time with the PA getting your med history. My surgery is July 7th. I started last Aug 09. You'll do fine. :biggrin: Good Luck!! Carol D'
  17. Hi Expresso, It has been a very long process. :smile2: I started last Aug. I needed my gallbladder removed. did that in March. I didn't need 2 surgeries in 4 months. But now I know I'll live thru it. Very uncomfortable for a week but, all healed now. The time will fly, plus you need the time to really learn what it's all about. It's not a cure, just a tool.
