  1. I had my consult today with my surgeon who said I . He said I am a candidate for the LAP-BAND®® surgery. He is concerned about how high my BP is so I need to have a cardiac clearance done. He said no anesthesiologist would put me under with my high BP. Any one else have issues with high blood pressure or cardiac clearance? What can I expect? I know my weight is not helping my BP....but I guess I wasn't thinking that it could also hold up the process. Carol
  2. Hello, My name is Carol and I just began my weight loss journey. I attended a seminar in April and Friday will attend my 1st consult with the surgeon. I am so nervous. I do not know what to expect. I am loking for someone who will share their success, or is on the journey like me and we can go through the process together. I will attend my 1st support group meeting in June. I've struggled with weight for 25 years. I want to enjoy life again. At 45 I feel I've missed so much because of my weight. Hope to find a buddy or mentor. Carol
  3. Hello, just joined the forum. I attended a seminar in April and on Friday I have my 1st consult with the surgeon for my lap band surgery. I am so nervous. I do not know what to expect or what the appointment involves. I have never had any type of operation and my biggest fear is going under! Other than high BP, I have no major medical issues. My weight has caused a lot of stress on my hips, knees and ankles and I become tired just from a short walk. I can't wait for my journey to move forward and enjoy life. Any feedback on what to expect from the surgeon consult would be appreciated. Thank you!:smile2: Carol
