  1. Happy 50th Birthday kellsby!

  2. I go in for my first fill on Monday the 13th. I am glad to get it done because it is too easy to just eat like I used to, I mean the quantity of each meal. It almost seems like I was able to loose when I was drinking protein shakes and no food and now the weight loss has slowed considerably. I still try to only drink a shake for breakfast and add frozen fruit to the blender. It does help to read that other May banders losses are comparable to mine.

Hope you get your fill soon.

  3. Hey there -- How are you doing? I have not been here for a while and just thought I would check in with you since we were done on the same day. I'm doing pretty good now. Doctor still has not given me a fill. He wants to wait til I hit a stop in weight loss. So in a weird way, I'm thinking I hope I don't lose any this week. I know, I know, that is just plain wrong. Maybe on July 22 I will get my first fill. Just have to wait and see. Well, I hope you are well. Give me an update when you can. Take care!

  4. Hey! I was starting to think the same thing. I almost talked myself out of the band just because of what I was reading. When I went in for my preop labs, etc. I was talking the nurse about it and she told me something very pertinent to all of us. She said that most of us if we do what we are suppose to do will be out in the world happily living our new lives and only checking in from time to time for updates on this site. That completely changed the way I view a lot of these posts. I think they much of it is really nice though, jsut knowing that there are other people in our boat. I was banded on the 12th and so far so good (except the coffee thing - I can't get that under control). Have a great three day weekend!

    "stitch" in my side

I have had the same thing, kind of like a nagging side ache that goes on all day. I woke up with mine this morning. I went to the gym thinking maybe I could work it out, but at 8:00 tonight it's still here, but not as bad. I think its just all part of it. Have my two week post op this Thursday so I'll ask and let you know.
  6. I am doing pretty good. I don't think I would have lasted on another week of liquids. My doc had me progressing to foods within 3 days. I am eating pretty much everything. I have no restriction at all though so it is making it pretty difficult to not over eat. I have to watch everything I eat. I hope I get a fill in June. My post op appt isn't until June 10. Good Luck Thursday. Let me know what your doc says. I admire you for sticking to your liquids. Brave!

  7. Hey! How are you doing? Almost two weeks postop. I feel a lot better than I did last week. My stomach was so grumbly it was hard to stand. I am now able to drink as much liquid as I need where the first few days I could barely keep water down, but so far so worth it. Go in on Thursday to get checked out and hopefully the go ahead for thick liquids and maybe mush, not sure. I have done really well on the liquids, but I had to break down and have some coffee. My headache would not go away which was making me miserable. As far as I know, it has not done anything negative, but we will see on Thursday. Let me know how you are doing. Take care!

  8. Hey there. How are you feeling? I go back to work tomorrow. I dread it.

  9. Had my surgery on the 12th and am home and not so miserable today. This morning I did have vomiting twice - so painful. Nothing came out because nothing was in. I managed to keep water down for the rest of the day and a few sips of gatorade. I had a hernia that needed to be repaired too. Anyway, I am feeling like I'm going in the right direction on the pain scale. Still have a sore throat, but it is getting less and less. I have been sleeping a lot so hoping that I am up and walking more tomorrow. It was definitely not a breeze, but much easier than being huge the rest of my life. Hope everyone else is doing well. :w00t:
  10. Hey! I am going on the 12th too. They just called in fact and moved my 3 o'clock surgery to 8:30 in the morning. Okay, I don't have anything to tell you about life after, but I will tell you that I was thinking the exact same things as you. I have three kids and don't want to risk for a moment being around them for a long time, but in reality I am sort of guaranteeing that I will be here with them a lot longer after tomorrow. I have lost and gained and lost again only to gain it all back. This will be the help we need. I am sure of this at this point. In less than 24 hours we will both be on our way to being who we REALLY are. You will be fine. I am a big chicken but am just taken it minute by minute and I am determined to have a nice nap tomorrow and wake up sore, but feeling great! Can't wait to hear how you are doing. :scared2:
  11. I won't be staying overnight so I will be home that afternoon. My hubby is making it real difficult. We are going to have to have a heart to heart before Wednesday. I won't change my mind, I've come too far.

  12. Hey we will be in the same boat! We should keep in touch. Are you spending the night at the hospital? I am so won't be home til the 13th some time, but definitely want to compare symptoms (hopefully minimal). It's funny what you say about your hubby and offering you things to eat. We just got back from farmer's market where mine wanted me to have some kettle corn and deep fried asparagus. Jeeeez! Someone needs to give me a break here. The words no thanks are not coming out as easy as they did a few days ago! Good luck on Wednesday. I might check in with you a couple of more times before the big day. Let's not change our minds, okay?

  13. I am being banded on the 12th. Let's keep in touch.

  14. May 12th is coming so fast! Has anyone else felt like running the other way just a few days before? Now my hubby is asking me every five minutes if I will just cancel which is only making my running the other way desire more intense. Please someone tell me that you have felt this way. I can't stop worrying now about my decision! Also, I have a question I have been wondering about...will these bands eventually have to be replaced in 10 or 15 years just due to normal wear? Thanks for any info.
  15. You are one day ahead of me so I will talk to you when I get home. I not going in until 1:00 on Wednesday so you will probably already be home by then and on your way to your skinny you! Good luck with everything!
