  1. This site is sooo helpful and so empowering!! When I have my moments ( I'm sure I will) I'm going to seek threads like this and take good advice, there's plenty on here!
  2. Green puss sounds like something you wanna call the Doc about! Does it have an odor, and do you have a fever?? Good luck, and let a doctor take a look at it!

I'm 3 days post op and I'm moving around good. Today, I'm managing on plain tylenol...the tylenol #3 makes me too sleepy. I'll save the heavy hitter for tonight! I'm sore but it's tolerable. I'm bloated....and I'm focused on trying to get all the fluids I need in.. I feel too full to drink anything, but I know I have to. I force a burp every time I drink and if air comes out the other way, that's a bonus!! It sounds gross but it makes my bloated stomach feel sooo much better. My doc has me on prilosec twice a day and clears for a whole week! I'm not hungry yet...Although, my son was cooking sausages earlier and I thought about chewing them and spitting them out...just to get the flavor! But, I didn't, that was the old me! :w00t: I fell asleep the other night b4 I took pain meds, and was awakened to the feeling of knives poking my stomach with every breath! Take your pain meds before you go to sleep!! I can feel the band on my stomach a little and that makes me squeemish  When I take pain meds, that sensation goes away... So, the moral of this post is take pain meds and walk, burp and pass gas, and you'll feel just fine!! LOL! Hope this helps
  4. Congrats Ebk, You're on your way! Or should I say we're on our way....I'm 3 days post-op...
  5. Sorry I'm so late to reply. I worked 3 nights in a row before my big day in order to have 2 weeks off. I was told I could go back in one week if it didn't involve heavy lifting, or pulling. I am going back in 2 weeks and I'll ask to be put on a unit that is usually lighter than the other units. No one likes to work there either so it shouldnt be a problem. Good luck every one! I'm 3 days post-op and doing as expected!
  6. I agree with the other posts...Look for another doctor to do your fills stat!! If possible, try to find a doctor who does it under flouroscopy. That way, they'll be able to see if you have proper restriction as they're doing it and put the appropriate amount of fluid in. I'm sorry to hear tha you're having a hard time but now that you have the band, you have to find a way to make it work for you. You have to make the band do what it was intended to do. Give you restriction so you can control the amount you eat!! So don't be discouraged and give up....YOU CAN'T DO THAT NOW!! You just have to get empowered and make that band work...after you find another doc!! GOOD LUCK!!
  7. I would get a second opinion but not allow another physician to operate. Just tell another doctor about the "boggy floppy" stomach thing and see what he/she recommends. There may be some validity to what the 1st doc said. Keep in mind that everyone is different
  8. Hi! Sorry you feel that way, but it does get better (so I hear). I'm on day 9 of my pre-op diet and I actually feel great and it's surprising. But, my doctor does a modified liquid diet. He has me taking 2 protein shakes and a meal per day. The meal is protein and veggies. So far, so good. In fact, it made me feel like I can do it even longer than 2 weeks!! Hang in there, it'll be worth it!
  9. Hello!! I'm also fairly new to this site. My band date is August 18th and I'm doing my preop diet now. I feel much better than I expected, I'm not hungry and I don't feel fatigued. I think the protein shakes are making all the difference by keeping me full. My starting weight is 278, I'm 5'10 and my BMI is 40.
  10. By the way, I joined this site a few months ago but never posts....I just looked around.... Now I'm 9 days away from my band date and I'll do better being interactive. Besides, I need all the info from other bandsters I can get....
  11. I'm on my pre-op diet day 5 out of 14 days. My doctor has me doing a modified liquid diet. I drink 2 protein shakes, 60 oz. of water and the third meal is regular food!! Well, regular for my new healthy lifestyle...4 oz of protein (baked or boiled, no beef) 1 cup of veggies (no corn or peas) and a toss salad with 1 tbsp of lite dressing. I see that most docs do a totally clear liquid diet. To my surprise, I haven't really been hungry. In fact, my stomach growled for the 1st time just a few minutes ago!! I think the protein shakes are curing any hunger feelings and I hope I'm not speaking too soon since I have 9 more days to go!!! How is everyone else doing?
  12. Good luck!!
