Anyone doing their pre-op diet???

I'm on my pre-op diet day 5 out of 14 days. My doctor has me doing a modified liquid diet. I drink 2 protein shakes, 60 oz. of water and the third meal is regular food!! Well, regular for my new healthy lifestyle...4 oz of protein (baked or boiled, no beef) 1 cup of veggies (no corn or peas) and a toss salad with 1 tbsp of lite dressing. I see that most docs do a totally clear liquid diet. To my surprise, I haven't really been hungry. In fact, my stomach growled for the 1st time just a few minutes ago!! I think the protein shakes are curing any hunger feelings and I hope I'm not speaking too soon since I have 9 more days to go!!! How is everyone else doing?

By the way, I joined this site a few months ago but never posts....I just looked around.... Now I'm 9 days away from my band date and I'll do better being interactive. Besides, I need all the info from other bandsters I can get....

Doing good myself!!! i am on the final countdown ! Tommarow will be one week till surgery!

Sept 1st I start my liquid pre op diet

Yep, I start mine on Tuesday....10 days of a full liquid diet. I have been dreading it, but I am sure ready to have the surgery done. I noticed you're a nurse...how long are you taking off work? I too am a nurse, and just wondered what your doc said about lifting/working after surgery.

Sorry I'm so late to reply. I worked 3 nights in a row before my big day in order to have 2 weeks off. I was told I could go back in one week if it didn't involve heavy lifting, or pulling. I am going back in 2 weeks and I'll ask to be put on a unit that is usually lighter than the other units. No one likes to work there either so it shouldnt be a problem. Good luck every one! I'm 3 days post-op and doing as expected!

I start my pre op diet Monday for 15 days, not looking forward to it!

Im 3 days in now and its tough...The shakes are terrible ..Im on 3 shakes and 1 protein bar a day plus sugar-free drinks..No carbination...Broth and maybe a few cucumber slices a day or baby carrots...My surgery is aug 31st...I hope I do well
