  1. Congrats Kellie! You look HAWT! Way to go!
  2. Exercise and more exercise. That's what worked for me. I work with the band. You can shoot me a PM if you want, I like this thread too much to hijack it.
  3. Touche, I am definately not lacking in the girly gene. So I guess half a tomboy doesn't count:tongue:. But if a potty mouth makes me a bad girl, I'll TAKE IT!
  4. Mine changed dramatically. Although I carried most of my weight in the middle, I was never a true apple. I had a big soft belly with a defined waist, and proportionately large thighs and upper arms but slim calves and lower arms and a small boned frame. Described on Igigi.com as a figure eight shape. Now, I am somewhere between a pear and an hour glass with a smaller fleshy belly. The belly is still a problem but its nothing another 50lbs and a TT wont cure. On second thought, it could very well be the same figure eight but minus 120lbs. OMG! Catherine what a cool link! I wish I had done it like that!
  5. Maybe its some weird ear/nose/throat connection. I just started noticing it myself. At first I used to hiccup and every now and then I still do.
  6. LOL you guys are hilarious! Im a girly girl, but a well rounded one. I love skirts, dresses, purses, and heels (OMG SHOES!). Yes even though Im a 6fter, I like towering over people. Nothing pleases me more than when Im the tallest person in a subway car. I love video games, I dont wear makeup, I get maybe a pedicure a year (I have nice feet though), never get manicures, my hair is au naturale and mostly wash and go, plus ive been told that I drive like a man and I curse like a sailor. :cursing: I love strong female characters in books, movies and games. My favorites are Eve Dallas from Nora Roberts' In Death series and Starbuck on BSG. I cant stomach a movie where the women are weak. So I stay away from lifetime, anything by Tyler Perry, and Greys (*Pick me, choose me = nails +chalkboard). To the OP: A skirt is cut on the bias just means that the fabric was cut for the pattern diagonally across the bolt. My pink tutu is showing!
  7. I take in roughly 700-1000 cals daily. I rarely have Protein shakes but when I do my intake is on the lower end of that spectrum. My biggest crutch has been pre-workout granola bars. Im starting to feel like they aren't cutting it in the energy+nutrition areas. I'm thinking about going back to morning shakes.
  8. Ive been selling them on craigslist. Quick, easy, and no middle man.

I am starting from this day to take monthly pictures to chronicle my weight loss journey. Errr....Not so much but I tried!
  10. Joga- Bjork My favorite song ever! ahhh......
  11. Ditto. Find an exercise that you like and do it daily (or close to it). Take it easy when you start and be consistent. Ignore naysayers and negative people. You can do it.
  12. A2bachik, Sarahthree, Janesays, xtanyax, Mrsebg you all look smashing!. Everyone looks amazing! With a capital "A"! Sarahthree, I cant agree more that B&A's are huge motivators, for others as well as for ourselves. Ive been inspired by so many other bandsters, here is my contribution. OMG WHY DO I LOOK SO CONFUSED TODAY!
  13. EVERYONE YOU LOOK AMAZING! What a difference the band makes! Okay I guess its my turn to take the B&A plunge! Here is where I've been and where I am so far. I'm pretty happy with how the weight is coming off. Still working at getting to goal though. What does a girl have to do to lose this gut! I hope this helps anybody who is on the fence. Join the band! BTW: I had to include a pic of me walking in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! It was AWESOME!:mad2:
  14. So recent events like my slight unfill and this stupid plateau have me desperate. I am trying to be calm about losing the rest of this weight. Its working but I am ready to start losing again. The truth is that I am getting kind of anxious about staying this weight. I am not happy with the current state of my fitness either. So I am giving the 5 day pouch test a go again. I am also going to be trying some different ways of getting cardiovascularly fitter as well as stronger. Tomorrow I am doing 1hr of cardio, consisting of Couch to 5k (wk1) and the elliptical for the remainder of the hour.

  16. OMG! I totally understand! I never felt "bloated" before losing all of this weight.
  17. OMG! I SHOP AT BANANA REPUBLIC!!!!! I dont even wear the largest size! Idk if I ever posted it here but The GAP had been my white whale. BUT now I am passed the GAP I hardly ever look there anymore! I guess i have lost the longing for what was once unattainable. Major progress.
  18. Before and Afters have been what has fueled my weightloss and kept me on task (mostly). However, I cant seem to take one of my own. I had gotten so used to taking pictures for various reasons that now when I seem my image I hardly recognize myself. I am so not complaining! What I have learned is that the last 20lbs made ALL of the difference. I look like a different person to myself! The only problem is that I feel that I look sick (not weight-wise). I am hating this winter complexion I have going on right now, I am not to pleased with my pallor. (Yes, Black people can look pale :cursing: ) Hopefully I will be able to take some decent pics soon to post on the B&A boards!

  20. Becky I had the exact same issue:first bite pain, slow liquid draining, etc. Never having reflux, I didn't know it was an issue. I went for a fill under flouro only to find out that I was too tight and got a .5cc unfill. No biggie but a lot safer.
  21. So Ive been pretty MIA for a while. Maybe Im getting that senior bandster syndrome, where RL is just to packed with "I'm not fat anymore" goodness. Nope I don't think so. The truth is that I was at a plateau and have been struggling with eating well and exercise. I have been getting to the gym less often, much to my chagrin. Lately the source of gym dodging has been my mysterious neck/back muscle pain or lack of transportation. I have to fully disclose that I am EXTREMELY hard on myself and even the most valid of reasons feel like excuses to me. I know that exercising while injured or unwell is a HUGE no no. But I still beat myself up about not exercising. There, I said it. So please understand where this comes from. I am at the point where I am ready to see my PCP about the back pain. Being a recovering hypochondriac, Ive had this issue before and I know he is just going to give me muscle relaxants. Which I will not take. So goes the cycle. No amount of stretching or hot showers seem to help and I even wake up stiffer than when I went to sleep. Oh and I got an adjustment on Monday. NP took out .5ccs under flouro. Apparently I was too tight. I didn't feel too tight but the flouro doesn't lie. The unfill is slightly annoying because I saw the next fill as the beginning of the end of this journey. However, I feel more relieved than anything that nothing is wrong with my band, I tend to worry. Even more, I feel like this slight unfill is the push I need to kick this thing into high gear because I refuse to gain weight. Furthermore I intend to lose the rest of this darned weight regardless of what level fill I have in my band. My goal is to lose 25lbs by summer. IDK how Im gonna do it and I am trying not to get discouraged.
