Thank you so much for your list! You really made it easy for me. My surgery date will be coming up very soon. I already bought two Leisure/sleep bras.

thanks again!

Thanks so much for posting this list. My surgery is in 2 days  and there are quite a few items on this list that I forgot. I cant believe I forgot a pillow. I will have a 2 hour car ride the day after surgery so that is something I definitely want.

Be sure and check with your surgeon...some of these items are "no no" for some docs. Motrin, for example, is an NSAID and I was told to avoid it post op for a while.

Also be careful with the heating pad; if you have heat soluble sutures overusing a heating pad can feasibly dissolve them a little early. (odd but true)

My doc didn't approve pudding, crystal light, or even Protein for the first week.

Use the list as a guide (as I'm totally sure the OP intended) but clear it with your surgeon or his staff and don't go against your doc's orders!

It's really not bad. I just needed my lip balm and some Water and broth the first few days (LOL) and my bra felt really good to me; got the girls up off my chest and my sutures!

Good luck!

Button down shirts were easier to get on and off, just my opinion.

The heating pad is suggested for the shoulder pain only, not the tummy. Should have clarified that, thanks for your input. the list is meant as suggestions only, obviously people should follow their docs instructions first.

I agree with all on the list - the lip balm was a MUST in the hospital overnight. I did put ice on my sutures and heating pad on my back/shoulders, it really felt good. The heat also helped me to sleep.

Thank you so much for posting this list I know I'd seen it before but couldn't track it down and was afraid of backlsh if I asked for it. I've copied it to a word document so I can have it ready when I have surgery. Thanks again!!!

Hello,

Could you help me please, I am trying to get a ticker on my signature! I have cut, copied, every code on the ticker web site for my ticker, pasted everywhere on lapband talk site, I was told to put in my signature and I have pasted it everywhere that it would let me and I always get an invalid file response! Are there any instructions on lapband to follow? I am a computer tech, its not like I am completely lliterate! Help, please! Nancy

Thank you, gotter done, I had done just that but did not realize that the actual ticker would not show in the signature box, where the url was pasted! God bless you!

Thanks for the very helpful list Nicci!!

I do have a dumb question, I had not heard anything regarding possible shoulder pain - that one puzzles me!

I am scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23rd . . .

anxious, but anxious . . . !!

There were several things on that list I had not thought of!

Lizz

I too did ice on the tummy, heat on the shoulder/back, felt a little weird to be 2 temps at the same time, but it did the job. My doc didn't allow jello post-op only pre.
