We both still just have just a few more pounds to lose however both the band and sleeve are very different. she can eat somethings I cant and I can eat things she cant.

    I don't want to wait

You can do this. I will have my one year band anniversary this Tues and yes it has been a process but one that is well worth the wait. So get started now. The hardest part was getting started after that just go Thur each step one at a time. You can do this! Best wishes to you!
  3. yep that will happen if you eat to much to fast. It would happen to me all the time. Now I know the feeling and never take the last bite of food to avoid PBing. I try to PB as softly as possible so I wont cause my band to slip out of place. Im a pro now. Gook luck to you.
  4. Yes, I know what you are talking about the good food is hard for me to get down sometimes. But the bad foods just slides right down no problem. my band is tight and I get so tired of PBing all the time that I eat not so good food just to enjoy by dinner without PBing. Do you know what I mean?? Some days I can eat chicken just fine but other days no-way will it stay down. Im still really happy about my weight loss so far and really happy I got the band. Im wishing you the very best!
  5. good luck to you! Im so happy for you
  6. Oh yes! I have been in your shoes. I would say things started to get much better for me around the 6 month mark. I now have a much better understanding on what foods work for me and what do not. Wow! This has been hard work and giving up certain foods and only able to get a few bites at the diner table is hard when it tastes so good. But that's ok because I have weight to lose and it is coming off sometimes fast sometimes very slow but its working and now at 8 months with the band I'm having a wonderful time shopping for smaller outfits. I'm at 6CC's now and yes it is tight. Best of everything to you and keep your eye on the prize. You are worth it.
  7. Just a quick question. I would like to know if eating cereal is ok or not. In a very small bowl of course. Whole grain like LIFE Cereal. I'm three months out from surgery. Thanks for all your input.

    sleep question

I love to sleep on my tummy but it took five long months before I was able to be on my tummy comfortably.
  9. I was told by my doctor I could go to the gym at around my 5th week post op.
  10. Hello - Does anybody want to share a one year anniversary story with us? How much weight have you lost and what did you do on your one year anniversary day.
  11. Your body is a little out of wack right now. Wait a couple months and your body will start to digest the food better. You lost 12lbs way to go !!! Just remember you will have ups and downs with the band especially in the first few months. however it does get better.

  12. Hello - I was banded 3/23 and yes my hair is falling out too. I read someplace that it should stop coming out around the 6th month mark. I really hope! I also am having a tender port area after I eat. It feels like the food in me is stretching out my skin around my port and it sticks out more. ouch! I have a question for you. How many fills have you had so far?
  13. Hello - How did your surgery go? So its been one week. you must be starting to feel better now. Please email any questions you may have. I mostly was sleeping my first week because the pain meds knocked me out. I was also so dehydrated after surgery. I was so thirsty. I really hope you are doing well. let me know.

  14. Thanks Jodi

  15. Hello Jodi - I was banded on 3/23/09 and was the same weight/size/shoe/ring size, everything as you in the beginning. I really hope I can follow your lead. You have really done a great great job. Its been fun reading your posts.

  16. Yes! I dropped a whole shoe size. all my old sandals would just fall off me. I had a wide foot before and now not so much. :wink2:

Hello my name is Laurie Jean - I was banded on 3/23/09 - the weight is coming off slow now. I go to the Dr for my 2nd fill on 7/16. I really hope this will make a difference in my appetite. How are you doing with your 2nd fill? are you still getting good restriction?

  18. Very cool July 29th right around the corner. YAY!!!! I hear ya on the friends and family thing about way not just lose weight the natural way. It all has to do with Maintaining the weight loss. That's how the band is going to help me. I didn't want to do the yo-yo up down thing loss 30 pounds than gain back 40 months later. My family didn't understand in the beginning but know they do and are supporting me. Oh I can hang with the Aries crowd because Aries is my rising sign. I'm a Capricorn by day and an Aries by night. So shoot away.
  19. That's great news! So when is your date going to be? I had my surgery March 09 and would be happy to tell you what challenges I'm having with the band. Feel free to get in touch with me anytime If you have questions. I'll put you on my friends list.
  20. Thank you ladies very much for taking the time to respond! That was exactly what I wanted to know.
