I hear some patients get a stuffed bear in the recovery room after the surgery from a nurse. Is that True? If so that's very sweet. :confused:

Yes - It was the same with my insurance. I was right on the border line to qualify so I was nerves about losing to much weight. I called my insurance group to find out how it works. They told me your qualifying BMI number is the weight you start with. But you should double check with your insurance case manager just to make sure. Best of luck to you!

Hello - I have Blue Cross of California - It was my Med Office who had all the rules. You can find this info on your insurance card. And yes my Med office required that I go thru the 6 month process. I would get this going asap so you don't waste any time just in case you need it. good luck - hope you don't have to wait long.

Yes! I have to do the 6 month nutritoinist thing also. I'm going on month 3 and will be finished in Jan09. I really hate the wait but it gives me time to learn everything I need to know before surgery. everybody tells me it goes by really fast and before you know it - Its surgery Day! :thumbup:

I was having a great time early this week reading all the stories about (peoples Surgery day at the hospital and Every thing that happened to them) Now I cant find it and am really bummed out. Does anybody know where that thread is located? Thanks for your help Jean

I'm in Oakland - just doing my 6 month dietitian meetings now. my Surgery will be around Jan/Feb09 I think. I'm really learning a lot during this time however I hope it goes by fast.:biggrin: Jean

Im just starting out and a little unsure of what I need to do during this six month wait. I'm on my 2nd month of weigh ins with my dietitian due to my insurance coverage with the lap band procedure. Im fine with this but was wondering what should I be doing during this time. I already went to the seminar. should I be doing other things this early on now to get ready for surgery? thanks for all your guidance.
